Great ideas thank you commutergranny, I will have a look see what I have in the stash besides pink mulberry paper, some too-big flowers, and plastic stems.

Hello everyopne. You seem a friendly bunch, so I'd like to join you, please.

This year I have already recovered a pouffe for my son and his partner, made baby girl bunting and a gift box for it, made a selection of cards for specific people (get well, birthday, baby, new grandparent, Valentine)

    I also want to make

    1. memory quilt for friend's granddaughter (WIP) - it's taking much longer than a "normal" quilt. - done
    2. all cards required this year (always do this anyway) - coming up in March so far are birthdays and an anniversary & St Patrick's Day.
3 . baby quilt (due July) pink quilt done, may need to do one for a boy instead ;)
    4. 3 more lots of baby bunting and boxes for July babies - won't do this until I have the babies' names
    5. Christmas cushions - made 2 two years ago and I have plenty of fabric left
    6. "bags of courage" for the Be Child Cancer Aware charity ( they hold beads children collect as they go through their treatment) -completed 25/25
    7. a wall hanging for our stairwell
    8. a series of 12 monthly embroidery panels (UFO) - will need to alter some of the designs as some are quite USA specific, e.g. 4th July. Completed: February, April
    9. something from Wizard of Oz project book I received as a gift last year
    10. bag for my laptop - sleeve and bag made
    11. make up the Christmas angel kit (bought last January!)
    12. make doll's bedding for my granddaughter
    13. alter SB quilt cover to fit smaller quilt - done
    14. 50 Morsbags

No doubt I won't do half of this and may even do somethings entirely different.

Now I'm off to join flickr so I can join your flickr group so I can see all the wonderful things you've all been doing.

    Happy crafting.

Greentiger - nice bunting I bet the recipient was really pleased with it. The card is lovely too.

Dakota - I really like your Hungry Caterpillar quilt, I've always liked that material but not seen it made up before. Is the one a changing mat or a quilt? Sorry but I can't quite make it out from the photo.

Promise to do a proper catch up later. Off to take my Dad to a jospital appointment this morning. My son's coming along to get the plaster on his arm checked as its gone soft in places and its another 2 and a bit weeks until he sees the consultant.

    Have a good day.

Update to the dolls house flowers- I've won 2 window boxes with flowers & foliage on ebay, so now have different problem, how to make 2 x 8cm go into 11cm and 6cm. But I can manage this. Many thanks for suggestions, I may still tweak some of the flower arrangement.

Sorry to hear about your hip mollyjump, hope goes well for you.
Lovely to see Roz_V pink patchwork quilt - it reminds me I have a blue patchwork in need of substantial tlc, not to mention a whole new edge on one side. I am somewhat aghast that welsh tapestry blankets are so pricey on ebay - I had hoped to get shot of a small one cluttering up my cupboard. Maybe I should keep it after all.

Things are not going well on the stash busting - I had to restock card blanks. Is that allowed ? I am trying to buy less than what's made, so 3 x cards @ £1 means I can have a £1 pack of card to make 10 more. Do others do this kind of money gymnastics?

Thanks for all the lovely comments on the quilt. OH had been away all week whilst I did it and didn't even notice that it wasn't threadbare and falling apart any more
  • Hello everyone, just an update (and a change to my list lol). I finished my quilt for my sons first birthday I love it. The clothes are the front and the Very hungry caterpillar is the backing to the quilt, its actually quite big.

Amendment to my list - I am removing the "make something great with sewing machine" as basically the quilt is great. However, I have had to add two baby birth samplers to my list instead (the feet ones I have previously done) as I am making one for my cousin in memory of her stillborn baby boy and one for a close friend who is due her baby this month and will be facing a lot of serious complications and surgeries and know she wanted one for her boy.

    1) Knitted baby hat & booties - completed
    2) Keepsake quilt - completed

    3) UFO - 3rd childs scrapbook
    4) UFO - Snow leopard cross stitch
    5) The Gruffalo - WIP
    6) Loom knit tutu dress
    7) 4th child's scrapbook
    8) Learn to needle knit baby cardigan - WIP
    9) cross stitch Xmas cards
    10) Baby sampler for son?
    11) 2 x birth samplers
    12) Loom knit caterpillar hat - Completed
    13) Minion hat for BIL - Completed

    14) 5 x handmade gifts for bday presents = WIP 3/5 done

Hope everyone is keeping well, loving all the pics on Flickr xx

Thanks for all the welcomes and encouragement.

Today (Friday) I cut out 100 squares to back the clothing patches for the memory quilt and made a birthday card for a friend.
