  • Roz_V. Your patchwork blanket is a real heirloom. Your repair has done justice to your mum's beautiful work.
I will update my list in the next few days and post photos of what I have done lately.
I'd like to tell more about my sisters'crafting, if that's OK? And I'd love to read about everyone's earliest crafting memories. I learnt to knit at primary school and embroidery in junior. Knitted a doll's dress at 7 with wool from my gran. My gran knitted even when blind. My mum knitted waiting for buses. She sewed our dresses & did a wonderful cross-stitch firescreen of a Lady getting into a Carridge. I smashed the glass of that doing sommersaults in the lounge....

Roz-v that is lovely. I have one (not an heirloom but one we bought 30 years ago) that needs a mend. You have inspired me.
As for my blanket I have now completed 4 cyberman squares and only have 15g lilac wool left. As each square takes 20g I have decided the blanket will have 9*4 colours laid out 6*6 with a 1" strip in brown between each square and a 2" border. I did the design in bed this morning and the centre 4 will actually be 2 saying 'bad wolf' and 2 saying 'don't blink' (though best friend sez that would be mean on a blanket!)
DD2's 21st isn't till beg. June so feeling very positive i will get it finished. Which will just leave 12 projects to get done by December rofl. Will add repair quilt to list and may ask advice :D

  • mollyjump I hope you recover well! Its potentially a long road ahead but I am sure you will be absolutely fine!

roz I absolutely love your quilt - I really would like a quilt but at the moment I think it is a project too far! Maybe next year?!

I have done next to no crafting lately - I have been rubbish. Will pick some up this weekend as OH is on nights and I have no other plans. Not sure what to do but I will probably bat n bob around all my UFOs to avoid getting bored!

Cardmaking February 2014 #2 by tgroom57, on Flickr

The thing I would most like to do for my wee 1:12 dolls house is 2 flower window boxes. The standard sizes don't fit - my window boxes fillers need to be 6cm and 11.5cm. I'd be very grateful for any ideas how to make flowers for this, because the flowers for card crafting are too big.
  • cards look beautiful tgroom, will have a thinks about the window boxes and get back if i have any ideas

Lots of lovely makes happening on the thread. I plan to make myself an apron as my next sewing project. The pretty cards on here have made me itch to start on some card making too.

  • tgroom57. Lovely cards. Re mini flowers. I made some tiny flower heads using Fimo. For stalks I then threaded them on stamen from a sugarcraft shop. Have also made them from scraps of dyed habatoi silk using crochet or embroidery thread for stems and a good dose of fabric stiffener. There may be some from a while back still in my boxes. If I find some will try to post pics.
