And here's a picture of the finished butterflies. I took the advice of FOS and framed some and left some free floating. 12157916093_c7a989c4c0_n.jpg

Ailsb that patchwork chair is a beaut! I look forward to seeing your version of it with the sofa bed. And your Butterflies look so lovely in the frame.

Nimbo your hair clips are lovely. They look good enough to sell!

Florenceem Wow at your dog beds! Thats such a great idea. I could kick myself, I have just dumped 2 double bed quilts, and there's my mums aging greyhound (Toby) struggling to jump up on the beds for his naps, this is the perfect solution although I'm not handy like you with a machine. I think he'd appreciate a comfortable spot on low ground. This is definitely a project to keep in mind for 2014.

Coxy11 your backwork sampler is very nice work. I hope we get to see it in the new frame in all its glory :-)

Carlamarie your "stash" jar is fab. Bet your hub is well made up with it. Great idea.

bmma Your crochet blanket is a gorgous colour and very nice. I'm making a baby blanket at the mo but am quite new to crochet so I'm a bit slow.

taurusgb Your sampler is very very nice. None of those Bronte girls lived very long did they? I look forward to seeing the completed version :-)

Mrs moneypenny wow at your Titanic work. Its is going to be absolutely gorgeous when complete!

Well I can see everyone has been very busy. I have been a bit lazy this past few days and have gotten caught up in a most magnificent audiobook which I've been listening to whilst crocheting my baby blanket and even when not crocheting at all. The book is called "The signature of all things" by Elizabeth Gilbert (she of "Eat Pray Love" fame) 21 hours long it is, read by Juliet Stevenson. Oh my what a fabulously written book and with Juliets beautiful english accent reading along to me it has been a delight. I'm not one for historical novels as a rule but maybe I may just give others a go after this.

Wishing you all a happy and productive week :)

thanks Camilla - I can manage neat in small things - and then for the big ones I get too slapdash... hey ho...

I have photographed the things mentioned today -

but have realized that I have yet to photograph the valentines card I have made... not that it is a master piece... haha.

I am planning to focus on the pendent this week as it will hopefully finish quickly - although I may have issues when drilling as I have no idea of i need to use a special drill bit for metal... mmmmm we'll see when I use what I have...

I think i may have to finish the advent calender as it would be great to check it off the list, and I'm so close to the end....

everyone's work is looking great. You all have so much patience with the cross stitching, and they look so impressive.

hope you are all well. x

I am working on the chair floor mats for my new craft room. I have two office chairs with swivel wheels so hope to protect my floor. I got some fabric from Laura Ashley - in the sale - the grey in the photo. I thought the grey fabric would be good on the floor especially as my new laminate is grey.
I have made a sandwich - grey design fabric/curtain interfacing then some fabric - bought cheaply at a boot fair. Next layer is wadding then curtain interfacing and finally some cotton fabric - bought at a CS.
I have never made a quilted mat before - I am going to apply a double binding - I am learning off YT. I have no curved quilting pins so ordered some from Eboy. I may hand quilt - not decided yet. A lot of work for something that I am going to walk on.

    Hello again!

Reporting from my PC today and can see how this flickr thing works:

First, my scruffy little pincushion (looks better from a distance)

And my two works in progress (first panel for two separate quilts) - these are big projects that will take me a while to complete

  • Happy Monday to all - not a great weekend for craft as I had lots planned and only got a little cross stitch done but I have added (again) to my list..

    1. Wedding invitations for day and evening and RSVPs
    2. Wedding information sheets, Menus and Orders of Service
    3. Activity Books for the kids - done!!
    4. Table Plan - going to use a mirror for this and have bought that already so as soon as we confirm our guest list more I can crack on with this
    5. Winnie the Pooh cross stitch - started out as a gift but the baby in question is now 5 (and won't appreciate it anymore) so aiming to have it ready for any of my own potential children..
    6. VW Campervan cross - started as a gift for DF in 2012 and never completed
    7. Christmas stockings for 2014 - done 18.01.2014
    8. Christmas gift sacks for 2014
    9. Christmas cushions including 'Noel' and 'Stag' (carlamarie you inspired me, I had been thinking about buying them!)
    10. Coca Cola blind for kitchen
    11. Coca Cola clock
    12. 'Home is where the heart is' cross stitch - started!
    13. 8 pearl love heart boxes to put wedding gifts for girls in along with 'blinged' lip balms
    14.
