The beds are stuffed with old duvets -
I cut a single duvet in half after running 2 rows of stitches down the middle - so it didn't fall apart. This was the right size for the downstairs beds. I cut a second single duvet up for the smaller beds - same method - just some bits left over. I then measured the duvet inners and made envelope style covers for the beds. So no zips or fastenings to fiddle about with. The covers were made with baby blankets/ fleece blanket and flannelette sheets.

Florenceem love you dog beds plus tips. Agree CSs are a great scource for animal bedding. Adore you photo with dog. Years ago I made little Fimo dogs, (based on the Jack Russell I had then), when I let friends chose one they always wanted a "sleeping" one.
  • Sounds perfect and I love the idea of them to have envelope closings too as one of my dogs just loves to chew the zips off every bed she has resulting in them falling apart twice as fast (once she has the zip off she sits and pulls stuffing out the pest) - I have made my mind up - this is my tomorrow job now - you are my weekend inspiration Florenceem :-)

Have finished my first official project (decided 2 mini cross stitches didn't count!) will take a photo later. It's taken longer than I'd hoped as I've had an awful cough/cold/headachey fortnight and all I've wanted to after work is sleep. But I finally got it finished last night :-) I think next up will be my 3d puzzle of New York...I know not officially a craft but it's certainly going to be a challenge with it's several thousand pieces!

Still not found my stash of velcro but - bought some for 10p in a CS today - enough for 2 doorstop cover closures. I did well in the CS - got some crochet thread - 10p and some doilies.
Then I went to Laura Ashley - fabric in the sale but still pricey. Bought enough for floor chair mats, cushion covers, table runner, recover 2 office chairs and cover for overlocker & sewing machine.

Just finished a scruffy little pincushion today and got started on two of my quilting projects, which may take me a while to complete. Will share my pincushion and WIPs when I work out how to upload photos and use flickr.

Loving the projects you all are posting! What a talented crafty bunch you all are!

No it didn't. Maybe it's because I'm on an iPad.

Will try again tomorrow when I'm on the PC

I have managed to make myself a hair-clip - which is really cute, and will perfectly match two dresses that I bought in the sale a few weeks ago... I made it following a suggestion I saw in a craft magazine...

And edited to add I made another, but TBH I needed a bigger overlap, to make it look less floppy...

It was really simple, and has now sparked the craze - I already have another 2 planned. One with cream lace and the red ribbon - which will match the dresses also, and another with turquoise ribbon that isn't as wide....

I'm quite pleased as I have been meaning to have a go at these for a few weeks now...

I still haven't finished the bleeding scarf though - it probably won't be done before the end of the month now - but I quite enjoy doing just a few rows of an evening...

I'm loving all of the projects that people have done, and am just a bit tempted to start collecting the bits for the cross stitch jar labels that have been posted (but I will be strong, as I would have to basically buy them all, as I have never been a cross stitcher, and I am stash busting at the moment - although I do have two jars that were going to be filled with buttons... )

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, and you're staying out of the rain...
