Apologies for the long post. I've updated my list of projects. Have amended number 6 and added 9-13. Have now finished 2 out of 14, not bad going for me plus one has been hanging round for about 18 years so chuffed with finishing the butterflies.
1. Finish hardanger SAL from Mable Figworthy – I started this last year but couldn’t master the cut out stitches so gave up. I have decided to give this another go but to improvise and do a “filler stitch” instead of the cut out.
2. Try to finish A - Z Nativity cross. Have only put try to finish as I started this and wasn’t happy with how it was stitching up and as it’s on 18 count I am struggling with it. Will see how it goes.
3. Finish quilt for bed - large project and first quilt I've done. Majority of squares have been completed but need to sew the squares together and actually make into quilt.
4. Finish Rock, Paper, Scissors, Spoke, Lizard cross stitch. I’m about half way through this one and this is the one I’d like to get finished first. Finished and son loves it so result!
5. Stitch Pairs or Spoils Tree cross stitch. Haven’t decided which one yet, will amend list once I’ve decided which to do.
6. Knit waistcoat with wool I’ve had for almost 12 months – finished knitting but need to sew it up. Decided that I don’t like this so changing this one to unpick waistcoat and knit 3 snoods as Christmas presents
7. Sew up the two jumpers (not including the waistcoat above) that I have had knitted for 12 months.
8. Knit 3 pairs of adult bootees (slipper sock sort of thing), to be used for Christmas presents.
9. Finish pair of knitted socks. I have one finished at the moment.
10. Finish butterfly mobile made from mini hama beads. Started this in 1996. Finished and framed
11. Cross Stitch Henry VIII and his Wives. This was a kit my Mum bought about 12 years ago. Since my Mum died suddenly (she was the same as we all are – had many craft items on the go) 8 years ago I have tried to finished a piece of cross stitch that she started. I have finished everything that she started that I managed to find charts for so I’m now looking at stitching some of the kits she had in her stash. I have stitched Henry VIII and will post update picture tomorrow.
12. Finish knitted scarf – I’m about half way through this one but have fallen out of love with it.
13. Make a new cover for the sofa bed which is in my craft room (spare room). I fell in love with a “patchwork” chair but can’t afford it nor do I have space for it. Hubby suggested making a cover for the sofa bed in the same style. Hopefully this should use up some of my stash of material.
14. Learn to crochet
Here's what the chair was like:

And here's a picture of the finished butterflies. I took the advice of FOS and framed some and left some free floating.

Sorry about graininess of the photo. Off now to do some stitching whilst watching Call the Midwife.
The chair is fabulous and a sofa bed covered in a similar way would be wonderful.
The butterflies look amazing now that they are framed.0 -
I love these and was reminder of them when I caught a few minutes of the programme about the Birmingham Women's Hospital - there was a lady who had triplets and they were wearing hats like yours as they were small0 -

I have been busy tidying and sorting my craft stuff out, and doing some crafting on the side as well just need to post the pictures up now. My husband went up the loft and found a load of big kits I bought years ago all untouched and also found loads of completed items which I did when I had loads of free time. They all need sorting out and either making into cards or framing will post that up tonight as well.
How exciting to find lots of untouched stash. Pity he didn't find lots of spare time for you as well0 -
Have been out and about with work this week so not much time for posting or stitching so apologies that I haven't commented on all of the wonderful makes.
I love looking at the variety of items in our flickr group.
I'm hoping to get to the framers on Saturday with my 2 finished projects (now both ironed) and also do some stitching but haven't decided which of my many projects will get some attention this weekend. We were supposed to be having visitors on Sunday but BiL is not well (nothing serious, just a bad cold he doesn't want to spread around). Is it really bad of me that when I got the phone call my first thought was "ooh more time to stitch...."?

I agree.
I've been really lazy this morning. Took son to hospital for appointment about his wrist, they confirmed he has broken it - he's really happy about it, strange child. Then made myself a cup of tea and started watching the Great Interior Design programme on catchup and cross stitching. 2 hours later and its 1pm - whoops
Going to go upstairs now and do some tidying so that it looks like ive been busy all morning. Hubby is due home in about 30 minutes. Hehe, what the eye doesn't see and all that!Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Flickr messing me about again so put photos in to Photobucket and then here.
I finished covering an office chair to use in my craft room. First one that I have done so not 100% happy with it. I have another chair to cover plus need to make 2 spare covers for wash time. I used Laura Ashley fabric lined with a recycled cotton sheet. The covers come off easily for washing - the back is a slip cover and the seat - gathered with a cotton tape.
