Well I'm still doing my usual of starting but not finishing projects. I've started to decoupage my family name letters and completed my own letter (I've added it to Flickr) but now my children have said they want to do their own. There goes my idea of letters decoupaged in vintage maps and children's books! Looks like they're going to be covered in Minecraft characters and footballers. Oh well. Off to try and finish my fabric flowers next. Four down - eight to go.

    Your letter is lovely

This is the first project started and finished in 2014

As with previous piece it hasn't yet been ironed - I will do both before I take them to the framers which won't be for a couple of weeks.

It was a very quick and easy piece to do - just what I needed after all that backstitch on the ABC piece

I love the way our Flickr group photos are growing - what a talented bunch we are completing a huge variety of different crafts

mrs-moneypenny a lady at the stitching group I go to is doing a blackwork piece that is all different coloured hot air balloons - I wonder if it is the same one. It is a fabulous piece of work, but like me she can only do blackwork for a short time before having to switch to some crochet or cross stitch.

Thanks - it's by Bent Creek and I agree that their style and Lizzie Kate's are similar I like them both

Your blackwork balloons are lovely - it's a very effective use of the different blackwork patterns

Welcome taurusgb - have added you to the list at the beginning of the thread.

Your 2 blackwork wives are stunning

I suspect I will fall in love with your 3 literary samplers as books are one of my other passions, especially 19th century literature

I see that you also do patchwork and quilting - have you thought about turning the Lizzie Kate squares into a quilt? Each square could have a fabric border - perhaps in a colour appropriate to the month. Then stitched together and quilted they would look fabulous. I love stitching LK designs

    Thank you :)

I had loosely thought about turning the Lizzie Kate's into a quilt or a patchwork throw, but thought they may be a bit small so get lost in amongst other squares, hadn't thought about making fabric borders what a great idea! thank you very much!

Books are also my other love. I have been collecting them all my life and they inhabit all rooms of the house except the bathroom (steam and books not a good combination). I am a bit annoyed by the Jane Austen sampler as I realised after I started it that it only has 4 of her 7 novels mentioned on it and that seems daft to me - if she had written 50 books I could understand it, but 7 can fit on, so I have stopped stitching it until I can get round to altering the chart and including all the titles.

This is superb. Really lovely. I love stitching alphabets but that is the nicest I have seen.

It does look very like the one the lady at my stitching group is doing - next meeting is tomorrow so I'll ask her. Yours looks grand - a lot of work though, how long did it take?

Urgh you're all doing so well! I have literally done 10 minutes stitching in the last 10 days - mainly because when I sit down to do any at home the cat tries to "help" me - very cute but not very productive :(

It's Woolly Wednesday today though so should get 2 hours done tonight (in between chatting!) :)
