Thank you mrs-moneypenny. I have just opened a flickr account and uploaded the first few photos I laid my mouse on (none of which I mentioned in my first post - I will try and upload those later). Could some kind soul tell me if this link works please? I am a complete dunce with technology so a "no it doesn't" reply will not be a surprise

Thank you very much. I have posted 2 photos of the blackwork Henry VIII wives [STRIKE]but under the user name Craft and Books as for some unfathomable reason flickr would not accept me as taurusgb[/STRIKE] Ha! managed to get it to accept me as taurus-gb ... obviously a dash makes all the difference?!?!
There are some stunning photos of gorgeous work - you really are all a talented lot
mrs-moneypenny a lady at the stitching group I go to is doing a blackwork piece that is all different coloured hot air balloons - I wonder if it is the same one. It is a fabulous piece of work, but like me she can only do blackwork for a short time before having to switch to some crochet or cross stitch.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Well I'm still doing my usual of starting but not finishing projects. I've started to decoupage my family name letters and completed my own letter (I've added it to Flickr) but now my children have said they want to do their own. There goes my idea of letters decoupaged in vintage maps and children's books! Looks like they're going to be covered in Minecraft characters and footballers. Oh well. Off to try and finish my fabric flowers next. Four down - eight to go.0

Hubby has suggested framing them rather than making them into a mobile. All thoughts gratefully received. They are made from micro hama beads and have been a pain in the proverbial to make. They are approximately 2 inch square at the largest.
These are beautiful.
Have you thought about having them framed in a box frame (i.e. deeper than usual) in a way that makes them look like the butterfly collections that used to be popular in Victorian times?
Something like this

Whatever you do with them will look stunning and they have to be on display0 -
Hello everyone - may I join you? I can see it is just my type of thread. My goals so far are :-
- Crochet a bag for my Mum's birthday in March
- Complete WIP - cross stitch Literary sampler
- Complete WIP - cross stitch Bronte sampler
- Complete WIP - cross stitch Jane Austen sampler
- Make 'something' using the 12 Lizzie Kate months of the Year cross stitch squares I finished last year
- Make new quilt using the gorgeous fat quarters I received at Christmas
- Decoupage the wooden frame for the sea grass basket unit in new porch
- Make padded seat cushion for shoe rack in new porch
- Pretty up boring plain fabric boxes housing hats and gloves in new porch
- Have a go at making myself an article of clothing (never done this)
- Complete WIP - crochet granny square blanket
- Sew / knit / crochet (not sure which yet) 2 new cushions for living room sofa
- Make bags for my 2 daughters and granddaughter for Christmas (make them one each every year)
- Complete WIP - crochet hanging flower decoration
- Crack on (I won't finish this in 2014 as it is a huge on going project) with my 6 blackwork pieces of 6 wives of Henry VIII. 2 already completed, and am about half way through number 3, but they are all A4 size so not quick to finish and I can only do blackwork for a short amount of time before I start getting cross eyed :rotfl:
I joined a stitching group last year that meets once a fortnight, and that along with now having turned DD2 old bedroom into my craft room when she left home last October, has made a huge difference to my productivity. For a start it helps having all my various craft items in one room and not having to hide them all over the house (though it was truly shocking to see how much I did have when it was all in one place  )
Off to finish reading the thread - only got up to page 3 before typing this so lots still to read.
Welcome taurusgb - have added you to the list at the beginning of the thread.
Your 2 blackwork wives are stunning
I suspect I will fall in love with your 3 literary samplers as books are one of my other passions, especially 19th century literature
I see that you also do patchwork and quilting - have you thought about turning the Lizzie Kate squares into a quilt? Each square could have a fabric border - perhaps in a colour appropriate to the month. Then stitched together and quilted they would look fabulous. I love stitching LK designs0
