Florenceem Your storage solutions are lovely and I am really envious of your craft room
mrsmp can't wait to see the final finished stocking. What a lot of work has gone into it.
I finished my first project of 2014.
It's a long standing UFO which needed a lot of back stitch (which I dislike) but I'm pleased with it now it is finished.
The photo is awful and really shows up the creases - sorry.

I have nearly finished project #2 which is another Cross stitch piece which I started at the beginning of January. I will then wash and press both pieces before taking them to be framed.
I haven't done a list of 2014 projects because I always change my mind during the year. Last year I completed about half of my 2013 list although I did do more than 13 projects in total. So I am keeping an open mind this year.
I do intend finishing more UFOs and also using up some of my stash though I can't promise I won't be tempted by new delights.......Then I remarried and moved in to Mr F's house - had the smallest bedroom as my craft room.
I soon outgrew that room so moved in to the next biggest bedroom.
That was too small so I moved into the largest bedroom. :)Stash took over that room so - the only bigger room in the house was the lounge/diner. We are going to have our lounge upstairs now so I can have lots of space to craft down in the old lounge area. :j

FoS well done on finishing your UFO! It's looking great. You mentioned a frame, I would think a wooden one would compliment it bestMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0

So after a day of procrastinating (I had a university assignment due) I have whipped up a purse... Mine had a slightly dodgy zip on it (it had for ages) - and then today I pulled the zip off completely - meaning the change section was open under the flap...
So obviously even though I had the assignment due it was essential that I whipped up a new one.... (It has a slight design flaw or two, but It'
s working well for me so far)...
I'm quite pleased as I even managed to do all the stitching in purple to match the zip I had that in my stash that was the right length... As far as stash-busting goes, I'm really pleased... It's probably a bit sad, but I have never made such a good purse - I will even whip one up for my mother's birthday in April now I have the basic pattern outlined...

I have also been doing some knitting (scarf number one), as I am determined to get that sorted by the end of the month... It may not be the prettiest, but I am wondering what to knit next... I have two other scarfs in line - as I really want to master the basic stitch (one with pom pom wool - which I hope to make into a cowl)... I have found a stash of patterns for jumpers and cardis etc - but know they are beyond my skill level at the moment...
I am loving the work of everybody, it's really inspiring to see what everyone has been up to... Thanks for keeping me on the crafting path!! haha

Nimbo - very impressed with your leather purse. I have a stash of blue leather and am half a mind to have a go at making a satchel type bag.
Mrs moneypenny - yours is a lovely stocking, a proper heirloom piece to treasure. How will you store it between seasons ?
I am getting lots of ideas seeing everybody's lovely works - who knew ebay sold snowflakes ? and I must finish up some UFOs this year.
Rush job today - Flower birthday card for Grandma in NZ.
I've found my cross-stitch post box and changed my mind I'm going to make a tree ornament not a card. That way I get to keep it.0 -
Firstly apologies for the length of the next couple of posts but needed to catch up.
FOS - love uour A-Z of stitching. I've looked at the it many times but so far have been good. It's lovely to see it finished. I'm sure your Row of Stitching will be equally nice.
Florence - what a lovely hubby you have and how lucky to have such a large chaft room and downstairs. Your storage boxes are great and fantastic that yoh managed to make them using stash.
MrsMP - your Christmas stocking is absolutely lovely and you seem to have done it really quickly.
nimbo - your purse is great. Is it hard to stitch leather? Your other makes are really good too. Can't wait to see your finished Advent Calendar.
Dakota - I'm enjoying stitching Henry at the moment. Will have a look at Phillippa George's books.
Camilla-Chubb - nice hat, the ear flaps look good to me. Looking forward to seeing your other makes.
Tash - well done on completing your stockings and so early in the year as well.
Deere - you're doing really well with your list, well done.
Welcome to Aliwali, bexidina and Elizabeth. Sorry if I've missed welcoming anyone else.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Have spent several hours over the last couple of days clearing out my craft room aka small bedroom. I'll give you a virtual tour of the room. The door is in the left corner of the room as you enter. On the right of the door is a tall Ikea Billy bookcase with 2 shelves of ornaments, 2 shelves of books and 2 shelves housing storage boxes. 2 of these boxes have cross stitch kits/items in and 2 with material in.
Next to the bookcase is an Ikea Pax wardrobe with doors. This wardrobe contains numerous storage boxes with all sorts of craft bits and pieces in, from jewellery making to card making. At the bottom of the wardrobe are 2 drawers. One has wool, cross stitch aida, linen etc and patterns in. The other has photo frames, knitting needles and fimo in.
Futher into the room is an Ikea table which is a gate leg table with 3 drwaers either size. This has my sewing machine on it and fabric, scissors, pins etc in the drawers.
on the right wall is an Ikea sofa bed (you may have realised by now that I like Ikea storage solutions). Under the bed is a large storage box full of fabric.
Under the window is a Billy bookcase with books and dvds. Next to this is a large home made ottoman which is full of bedding (and a bit of material) In the corner is another storage box full of wool, on top is another box full of material and another full of knitting patterns.
Thats my craft room. Having cleaned it I have found several projects partially made, a scarf, a knitted teddy and a butterfly mobile to name a few. I am going to redo my list of projects to include at least a couple of these things.
Now back to what I'm doing. I've finished Henry, here's a photo.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j
