yes I said that above I only have one friend who doesn't work and her children go to a different school so she wouldn't be able to take my son in for me. My Dad works, as does my ex MIL (she gets one day off a week so if it was on that day she could possibly take him but she lives a mile away from his school with no transport and I suspect she would say no) there is no one else unfortunately.

If it occurs again ask the school. I sometimes have early medical appointments and usually a friend will take him to school but one day her child was ill. SHE rang the school and explained (I was happy to just be late) and the school rang to say drop him off at the office anytime after 8.30.

That said I had to claim JSA not so long ago and had a sign on time of 3.30 and initially they wouldn't budge so I know what you mean.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have never heard of them doing that but if I don'[t ask I wont know, I will try that if the situation arises again.

I know how frustrating it can be. All I asked was for a sign on time not at pick up and got the "you need to available for work". Disregarding that £70 taxed didn't cover childcare.

But people (ie a mum in the yard) and / or the school should help if not regular. Good luck with the job search.

Calm down dear, I'm not one of your subservient claimants. It's that kind of attitude that reinforces the stereotype.

Are you sure you aren't the same person who used the gender thing earlier?

"Calm down dear." Not that you're patronising or even stereotyping of course. :rotfl:

I notice that only some of my points are being commented on, is this typical of jobcentre advocates only picking out what they want
No...it's to avoid answering every single point made and then having you answer every single response and then dealing with every single point ad infinitum.

Speaking for myself, I either comment on the major points or those that I feel more strongly about.

Sorry if my responses are based on what I want to say rather than that you want to hear.

And I really do not need words to be emphasized in bold,
The words I bolded were not bolded for emphasis. They were bolded to illustrate the phrase I used about there not always being an alternative to choose. I did that because you appeared not to see the words I used when you referred to making a different choice.

I concede they were bolded for emphasis this time.

Just to save this old boy from trawling through earlier posts, what gender thing are you on about?

Of course I was patronising you and stereotyping you as well. It achieved the desired effect did it not?

Being sanctioned for arriving ten minutes late to an appointment is not an extreme example, it is the norm.
Yes it is; unfortunately the DWP doesn't allow the money for a team on hand to deal with people that turn up late.

Funding for a team? To process a few latecomers? No wonder the country is on it's backside.

Customer arrives late for an appointment - JC adviser refers customer for sanctioning:

"Failure to attend/participate in an adviser interview/training scheme "

Customer is sanctioned for four weeks.

    Please read the correct proces.

Customer arrives late, issued with ES19 to attend NEXT appointment on time

Customer attends THAT appointment late, customers reason are referred for a sanction.

This process has to be followed because if this goes to a tribunal for an appeal JCP have to provide the copy of the ES19, without that copy it will be thrown out and the appesl overturned.

Why do people not listen to the advice I have given, Unless you have been issued with the correct form, appeal. If you have then please tell the truth and own up that you have been late on to consecutive occasions.

Just out of interest what time frame is this in. Is that late twice within a year you will get referred? Thanks

Its not done on a timescale. You're issued with an es19 which will have the time and date of next appointment, if your late for said appointment it's referred to a cm. If you're on time the es19 is disregarded.
