Its not done on a timescale. You're issued with an es19 which will have the time and date of next appointment, if your late for said appointment it's referred to a cm. If you're on time the es19 is disregarded.

Thanks CSMW perhaps this issue will end, though I doubt it.

Thanks, that seems very reasonable and fair in that case. I thank you and others for taking your time to explain these things. Before I knew the process I thought if I was a few minutes late that would be it a sanction, I shall now stop worrying about it so much, as I certainly won't be late twice in a row.

How many other day time jobs require security guards on the premises and at the doors ?

Hospitals. The ward next to the one I work on even has fully armed police guarding patient rooms.

Lots of office buildings have security

Very true... I wonder how many of the people on here blaming the advisors could actually handle a day doing what we do.

yes I said that above I only have one friend who doesn't work and her children go to a different school so she wouldn't be able to take my son in for me. My Dad works, as does my ex MIL (she gets one day off a week so if it was on that day she could possibly take him but she lives a mile away from his school with no transport and I suspect she would say no) there is no one else unfortunately.

I'm sorry, I didn't see your post when I wrote mine.

Couldn't you network amongst the parents of your child's friends? You might find someone in a similar position so that you could take turns.

Are the security guards in the rooms to protect the nurses when they are carrying out there job as they do for the job centre staff. Being honest I was quite taken aback when I first visited the job centre and seen the level of security staff walking about and on the doors unfortunately it wasn't long before I discovered why there were needed as some intoxicated person threated the person behind me in the queue for looking at him funny.

most of the office buildings I have worked in have had people on reception rather security guards but I suppose that does depend on where you work. But I have never worked in a office where security guards wander the floor making sure the staff are safe.
Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j

I've seen security guards in A&E but never on the wards. On reception in office buildings, they're usually checking bags for bombs etc. rather than being there to protect the staff.

Sorry but busymum was correct in the process. Your version is not how things work

I agree that it is the correct process for being late, but that process is not always followed. Late claimants are often referred for sanctions as a failure to attend.

Funding for a team? To process a few latecomers? No wonder the country is on it's backside.
If you are happy to pay for it out of your taxes I am sure they will be happy to do the latecomers...

What you and csmw seem to be ignorant of is that JC advisers are not the only employees who can refer claimants for sanctions.

You are both narrow-minded and naive enough to assume that because there is a procedure to follow, and neither of you have experienced it happening in your JCs, it doesn't happen.

Work Programme providers refer more claimants for sanctioning than JC staff, and ES19s are not issued by WP providers.
