Crazy JSA Sanction

Hardly a fair comparison, plumbers can't inflict destitution on anyone. Plus when dealing with plumbers, accountants and shop assistants the 'customer' has the choice take their custom elsewhere.
How many other day time jobs require security guards on the premises and at the doors ?Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j0 -

Nothing on here will change my opinion. JSA do not care full stop.
Again let me know if your job has stopped you 4 weeks money for being late. No, why? because you can't!! A lot of crap and no proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tried using that argument on your boss when you were working?0 -
I have to drop my children off and get to work.
I am trying to help here by explianing the late process, no one gets sanctioned for being late on a one off.
The process,
Customer arrives late is issed with ES19 for NEXT appointment, cust arrives on time for appointment end of process, arrives late then reason sent to LMDMA
Advisers do not impose sanction and you can only be sanctioned if ES19 details the particular day and time you are late. If any one has been sanctioned for being late without the ES19 being issued appeal!
For those who have childcare restrictions and no partner available for those times then you agreement should reflect those times, you then cannot be asked and more importantly sanctioned if your appointment is out of your availability or sufficient notice issued.
Please check the times you have stated you are available if you really have issues attending JCP at that time.
People on this site are happy to help, we are not happy to recieve constant abuse.
Yes I understand people have to drop children off to be at work, I am quite prepared to do this myself, if I got a job that starts at 9.30 not a problem I would pay a childminder to take him to school, I have no issue doing that as that is what I have to do to enable me to earn. My agreements states that I am available to work from 9, this is fine I am available to work from 9, but it would involve paying childcare, something I would be able to do if earning. However I am not available at these times because of lack of childcare to get to the JC as I have no money to pay childcare and like I said I doubt I would be able to find one anyway for a 'one off' arrangement.
I understand you come of these forums to help and I am not getting at you, I hope it is not coming across that way. I just wish that the advisers would listen and at least try to understand what I am trying to explain and make the appointments from 9.45 as this would give me enough time to make sure I got there on time. Its not as simple in my case as leaving the house earlier. I suspect its the same with those using public transport they cannot leave earlier than the first bus/train.0 -

But how many occupations arouse such dislike? Shop assistants? Shop assistants and factory workers do get abused and assaulted. But do they get abused and assaulted because they are shop assistants and factory workers?
Do they get criticised for operating their employer's pricing policy? Does someone smash up Sainsbury's because of the price of beans?
Plumbers? Well a few might make little jokes about not turning up. But do you hear of assaults on plumbers?
Accountants? These incidents are hardly rare, more like a daily occurrence. But you never get to hear the advisors stories... just the hard done by customers.
Is it really an everyday occurrence that job centre staff are raped and murdered?
Yes shop assistants do get abused about their employers pricing policy, particularly during sale promotions and their returns policies. I don't think the price of a tin of beans can be compared to losing your JSA for 4weeks. I don't know about factory workers I suppose it depends whether they work with the public. Customer service staff take abuse on a daily basis.
Unfortunately front line workers do take the flak for government policies. I don't think it's fair but it's a fact and if anyone asks to see a senior or heaven forbid speak to the decision maker then they are refused which leaves the adviser as the only face to face person as everything else is call centre. It is sad but true that the public take their frustrations out on the person in front of them even if that person has not caused the situation. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. An adviser will be running late because either the person has asked lots of extra questions and has been given extra help, the person before has come late so they get behind, perhaps a member of staff is sick so they are having to fit others in. Lots of reasons.
I have stressed the late process but it is there for a reason for it and it should be used in the correct way.
No the government do not care, nor do they care about the staff. I have not said workers get sanctioned but they may well lose their job, if they then claimed benefit they would be sanctioned for losing their job so I suppose yes they may well get sanctioned for being late. Why so angry against people who are offering help in case of a wrongful sanction?0 -

Can I suggest that provided you are not claiming for a partner that you change you agreed working pattern. That way you will not be required to attend an early appointment. You cannot be sanctioned for just attending late once.
It does come across that you feel 'got at' but I really am not. I only work with long term unemployed and put up with abuse daily all because I do my job.0 -

No-one said they get raped or murdered on a daily basis but they do suffer threats and abuse on a daily basis.
You can not speak to a DM because they are not based in a JCP. You are more than entitled to a recieve a call from one though, just ask.
Is it really fair that staff should have to put up with this behaviour? No it isn't. If people sent their thoughts to their MP as they are the only ones who can bring any change to legistlation through parlament.0 -

thanks, but I am not allowed to, the rules state that I have to be available for work between school hours so from the time ds starts till when school finishes. As I have said this is not a problem to work these hours as childcare is available but it is a problem getting to the JC if the appointment time is just after the school drop off, unfortunately as my agreement states I am available to work these times it is expected I can attend the JC between these times, but there is a difference in those two situations.0 -
