Need help thinking up an excuse for Santa

    i havent read the whole thread .. just saw someone who said there was a problem with you lying to a 6 year old ..
    I personally dont thing you should withhold presents because that can cause upset more ... because althought we do the if your naughty santa wont deliver routine children tend to forget very quickly when they have been naughty .

    I would say what my mum used to say , santa asks the mums and dads to buy presents that we know you want and then we send them to him and he will deliver them on christmas eve, i think it helps children to know that toys dont appear by magic but that mum and dad had a part to play .

    DS has been counting the sleeps since about 30, you'd think I'd have it etched in my mind.

    Write yourself a letter on Santa-headed notepaper .... thanking you for confirming that Santa's list was in fact correct and asking you to sign/return the slip at the bottom and hang it on the fireplace to confirm he's been a good boy this year.

    Send it to yourself, open it in front of him, then accidentally leave the letter out and leave the room.
