Atidi: you rightly refe to Tesco's website. However, not all information relating to Tesco Clubcard is on the website.

For example, did you know that there are different earning and redemption rates depending on grandfathered status?

FWIW I earn 800 Avios for each £2.50 Clubcard coupon. If you check on the website, you will see that only 600 Avios are earned per £2.50.

Why the discrepancy? Historical reasons apply. If you check on the 'existing cardholders' link, you will find no detail of this, only that your existing (undescribed) benefits will continue.

Just because you don't see something described in black and white doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Perhaps you need a little reminder what it says in the OP ;)

What, you mean " have a Tesco CC which, ever since they halved the points they give on fuel, has served to retain the 1 point per £1 fuel thing, no matter what card is used to pay."

Is that what you mean? The statement which contradicts your 2.5 year claim? Do you really mean me to requote that just to make you look even more stupid than you yourself are currently achieving?

The same OP who gave an example of it not doing what you claimed on 1st Dec, and then changing on 4th Dec? Dec this year, not 2 years ago. Is that really what you want?

Re: the original post there may be something else that we're not aware of, perhaps they can check MCA to see the points per transaction and the CC No. that that goes with it.

So tell me, how many avios points do you really get per gallon of momentum 99???
    OK, I'll bite.

    What's a gallon?

I get 0 points per litre of Momentum 99. (Don't tell anybody, I don't buy it.)
  • I'm confused by this whole Tesco credit card fuel payment situation!

I have a black Tesco Finest World credit card (Mastercard) which I've had for about 4 years.

Every time I go to the petrol pump, I go to the pay&pump and pay with the credit card (I never use my clubcard - I always use the credit card as the clubcard and payment card).

On the 3rd November I spent £50 on standard unleaded fuel and got £50 points (the usual amount that I've received for years).
I then get another 25 points from the TPS (finance bank) when checking my statement.

Then, later in November, when I spend £50 again on petrol, this time my receipt shows 25 points.

And every time I've filled up since then, I've received HALF the amount of points that I used to get.

I have NOT been notified by Tesco of any change.

In fact I received a letter back in the Summer with my credit card statement saying "get even more points at the pump" - and it clearly showed my black credit card on the page and gave an example .... spend £50 and get 75 points.

I don't know what is going on but I have contacted Tesco Personal Finance last week and they have passed my query on to the relevant department. I have not heard back yet.

Today I filled up with another £50 of unleaded (using exactly the same method I've used for years) and again only 25 points
  • Does anyone still have a leaflet drop that came with the credit card statement earlier in the year (around summer)? There was an 8 inch x 4 inch piece of paper which said something like "get more points on fuel" and showed a fuel pump on one side and the other side there was a chart showing how many points you would get when you used your Finest Credit Card on fuel. I've thrown mine away! [ggggrrr]
I'm confident this showed that if you used your Finest credit card you would earn 75 points on £50 (or a similar amount, i.e. 60 points on £40)

    crazyaboutmags:

Have you tried seeing if there's difference - if you pay at the kiosk?
I did a comment on this earlier. And have you checked you points transactions in My Clubcard Account?

    Fuel bill: £76
    Fuel purchased: Diesel
    Clubcard used: Tesco credit card.
Payment card used: Halifax credit card.
Where paid: At pump (not in kiosk).
    Points awarded: 38.

This transaction would have paid me 76 points last month.
