Capital2Coast - well here's a good opportunity then to test the new IPC system. Please do make sure you direct anyone on your estate who receives a ticket to this forum please.
I only arrived in late! I will read them tomorrow.Thank you for reading this message.0 -

Start by reading these couple of
and not forgetting of course that Capital 2 Coast actually try to gain your consent to take you to court should your appeal fail in an attempt to intimidate you not to appeal. Their legal knowledge is appalling.....

Thanks for this. I have passed on the thread to the Management company to forward to the Directors. I will let you know when/if there is a response.
All I can add is that I won't be 'caught' as the shiny laminated, blue and white permit is permanently on my windscreen!Thank you for reading this message.0 -
I-LOV-MONEY What about the other theads given - have you not read those yet.
IPC are the recently formed new company with currently provisional ATA accreditation. The directors of this company are solicitors who are touting for business by offering their members 10% discount using their Solciitors firm, Gladstones.
They purport that their appeals system is "independent" and that appeals are heard by contracted solicitors at a cost of £25/£15 per appeal depending on outcome.

This fee wouldn't normally get a solicitor out of bed in the morning -so beggars the question if they are doing the appeals themseleves0 -
What has your management committee unleashed on you and your fellow residents?
A very dark day indeed for you all :cool:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I have read all the links that were posted. I didn't want to swamp them with so much in one go! I will wait for the reply, and then throw the connection with the solicitors/independent appeals to them afterwards.
I would also want confirmation that we are not paying for the service out of our service charges.Thank you for reading this message.0 -

I'm sure you won't be.
All the more reason for C2C to ticket as many of you as possible .... and as often as possible! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Presuming only residents and their visitors park here, and all display their permits, what would happen? The PPC go out of business?Thank you for reading this message.0 -
I would also check that their contract doesn't have a clause in it that if the management company ask for a ticket to be cancelled, then the management company compensates the PPC with an equal amount to their charge.
I would also ask for a copy of the contract so you now where you stand for future use.0 -

Am I entitled to ask for a copy of the contract? Is it not just for the Management company to negotiate and deal with?Thank you for reading this message.0 -

Nope the PPC would find excuses to issue tickets to those residents and visitors, such as:
- rocking the car to make a permit fall off a dashboard
- alleging the permit isn't readable if the windscreen is icy,
- alleging it's faded if it's been very sunny
- pouncing on a visitor's car in the minutes it takes them to collect a permit
- pouncing on delivery drivers' vehicles, taxis, vans etc., any vehicle which literally pulls up to drop something off
- choosing a holiday period like August or Christmas next year to change the permits to new ones then ticket all those where the car still has the blue one
- issuing tickets to cars slightly over a bay line or on a kerb (never mind the permit)
- issuing tickets because it looks like a car tax disc is out of date (none of their business and it could have been renewed online)
- issuing a ticket as a Blue Badge is a teensy bit obscured by a permit, or vice versa
Enough already? You will all regret this move by the Managing agents and you don't even need a permit scheme at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
