Am I entitled to ask for a copy of the contract? Is it not just for the Management company to negotiate and deal with?

Are they not supposedly acting on your behalf if you are a shareholder?

Presuming only residents and their visitors park here, and all display their permits, what would happen? The PPC go out of business?

As you don't want any payment to them to come from your service charge, where do you think their income will come from?

They are an experienced PPC and they wouldn't enter any agreement where there is the remotest possibility they will lose (or even not make) any money. They are not some philanthropic service to the community, they are solely motivated by MONEY.

They can deliver their service at various levels of cost to themselves, probably the cheapest is the 'self ticketing' arrangement where they will set up one of your own community residents with a set of tickets to stick on your cars, take a photo with his smart phone and then upload it to their server, NtK on its way to you a few weeks later. Small bonus from them to your local Norris Cole.

And here's the system they're likely to be using - in all its glory from their website:

I like the way they are using an expensive premium rate phone line for queries.

Enough already? You will all regret this move by the Managing agents and you don't even need a permit scheme at all.

I am sure all this is possible. However I am sure if they were spotted rocking the car etc., there would be action taken against them.

We are always notified weeks ahead of any change of permit or regulation, by the Management company. We had a PPC for the past few years. I don't know the reason for the changeover.

The new company takes over on 23rd December (early Christmas present?!). I will keep you informed of any changes I notice or hear about.

  • Oh dear - C2C are a joke ! A bunch of ex-clampers who can barely string a sentence together. Conmen through and through. You know that PPC I mentioned I had two POPLA appeals outstanding against - well it's C2C.

Really, you couldn't have employed a bigger bunch of bullying clowns. Part of their sales technique is to say they always take "offenders" that don't pay to court - I know as I've spoken to residents committee members. Now have a guess how many people they've taken to court in the last year ? That's right a big, fat ZERO :rotfl:

So they are liars as well.

So the new firm takes over in a holiday period when there will be lots of visitors. And possibly a lack of places to park in the right bays. And are those blue/white permits going to be C2C's version or are they going to suddenly introduce new ones with 24 hours notice I wonder?!

Your car park does NOT need a protection racket.

  • I forwarded your and my comments to the Property Manager for the Estate.

    I received this reply -
I note your comments in your email and agree that the new company can only do as much as the old one was able to however unfortunately the old company haven’t been patrolling the site for a few months now and since that time the Directors have noticed an increase in cars parking on the estate without permits. The thought process was to install Capital2Coast to begin patrolling to attempt to limit the number of unauthorised cars. As you say this will rely on people believing the warnings and not parking if they do not have a permit. We hope to see a reduction in the number of unauthorised cars parking on site, and will monitor the situation over the next few months to see if the parking company has made a difference and managed to ease the parking situation.

I also note your email regarding the forum and will pass this forward to the directors.
I will, of course, keep you informed of any future developments.
Thank you for reading this message.

  • Perhaps you should report them to Trading Standards.

They have the BPA logos on them - they do not belong to the BPA!

Well spotted ! I have e-mailed the BPA as it is a breach of copyright, and let them do the 'dirty work' !

Maybe C2C will have to pay to have all the signs replaced. As they probably use the same signs everywhere; I haven't mentioned the area, so they won't be able to just change the ones in my estate!
