Congratulations on all the crafty projects :j

My hand is still sore so no crocheting for me :( It is so infuriating as I only have a few rows left until I am finished my shawl.

If I could crotchet I'd offer to help! Hope it gets better soon.

    How kind :D

I am now on the last row :j

However I have realised that sore hands/arms are happening more and more often so I need to find a crafty outlet that does not put as much strain on that area. Not sure what yet…...

Do you think the soreness is due to your crafting? Is there something else that might be exacerbating it e.g. computers? I find my wrist aches if I use a mouse too much, at the moment it's helped by using a wrist support from the chemist - would that help you? Tell me to shut up if I'm teaching my grandma to suck eggs here :o

I spent a couple of hours on mum's quilt today and I think I've finished the machine quilting - she wants a little hand-stitched motif in each corner - new territory - a bit scared 'cos I don't want to mess it up when she's made such a lovely job of the patchwork. I'll have a practice on a piece of spare fabric tomorrow.

    Love the picture Jellie

not strictly crafty but today I am aiming to pot on 48 lavender plants... Which if I manage I'm still counting as one... haha

paint my craft chair with at least one coat of emulsion - I have sewn the covers for the seat (from loads of scrap fabrics and little embroidered segments from stain tray cloths) and this will hopefully be ready to varnish tomorrow... this will be counted when it's all reassembled...

not much but inter spaced with washing should get me through the day... haha

    **UPDATE**

Managed to whip up a batch of lemon curd - which was busting the stash of nearly gone lemons... (got a pack of pastry out the freezer too which is busting the stash of random bits and i need space for sloes which I will be picking hopefully this week - so will hopefully have a lemon meringue pie later never made one so it will be an adventure)...

Potted the lavender plants a well as a sloe in a spare pot - probably won't germinate and even if it does it will take years to fruit - but thought it was worth a punt...

I have a load of cherry brandy to bottle too and still the chair to paint...

Kinski, you can make your own bias binding, best to have a rotary cutter and mat with big ruler but you can use chalk, ruler and scissors. cut the strips on the bias of the fabric then iron the folds in. You might not need the strips to be cut on the bias for bunting, try doing a strip off the bottom of some old sheeting or something and iron the folds in and then pin the bunting in place and hold it up and see if it hangs right xx

I bought a bias binder gadget - feed it in and it folds and presses..., but now I'm thinking rotary cutter and board :T

  • Hi All, just joining this list for some inspiration to get me clearing out my craft stuff as part of a bigger declutter. I have lots of wool as I love crocheting. I also have quite a lot of fabric that I don't use atm, and can't bear to get rid off and some paper/card from when I used to make cards a few years ago.

I am dead pleased with it - the photos don't really do it justice.

I am now working on laundry bags for socks for the family - stash busting of course

Wanted to say how inspiring this is.........

Nimbo Do you use the lavender in your crafting? I have quite a few plants in my garden and was hoping to use them for something.
