Passed here, passed there. Basically none of them are interested in you and for good reason. They like us all disagree with you.

Hasn't it occured to you the guy from Aldi which has read this thread will just see 99% of the comments disagreeing with you. Doesn't it give you a clue as to what might happen? (nothing)

I think you'll be waiting a long time for your £30 gift voucher you've developed some weird idea you're due.

Yes they do accept them, that's the only card I've ever used there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've just noticed above loads of people have told you the same thing.

Also their website diesn't say they don't take them, it's just not simply not listed, that doesn't mean they don't take them does it!

This is getting surreal now

Many of us use Visa debit in Aldi (and yes I agree Aldi will see this thread and see how out of step with normal customers this person is)

I do know someone who worked for one of the big 4 supermarkets and they commented they were planning on applying to Aldi as they were offering £1.50 an hour more than this person was currently getting in the same role. That said - from my personal observation -Aldi's staff seem to work a lot harder -they always seem to busy and don't work in twos gossiping as they work or just standing there the way our local Tescos and Sainsburys staff do at times (not saying Tescos and Sainsbury's staff are lazy just it's an entirely different work model)

For whatever reason, Aldi has chosen to use the now defunct names of debit cards: Maestro and Solo = Mastercard; Delta and Electron = Visa.

As nobody in the UK has any more a Debit Card branded with one of the four logos, taking your argument to it's conclusions, we can say:

Aldi does not accept any Debit Cards currently issued in the UK.

also observe the word ONLY,,,,,also observe that Aldi does not say that they do accept credit card on a geographic bias basis

in fact in one of their seven regions some of the stores accept credit cards and some dont . not even a whole region basis

The fact that it worked in their card terminal would be very relevant as it would prove that they do accept them and the worst "crime" they are committing is having out of date information on signs and their website (the CEO should be sent to the tower for this heinous crime).

It also still doesn't change the invalidity of your original whinge - ALDI can chose what cards they accept and where they accept them.

Shows an interesting difference in philosophy. When the card types changed names, I expect the main supermarkets would have quite quickly updated the list of cards on the door (with extra expense that results). Aldi clearly didn't think the difference big enough to be worth the expense to do this, or to double-check their website. Clearly, for most customers the intended meaning has been perfectly clear.

The OP considers this a fault (either through pedantry, or genuinely not understanding), whereas I'd consider it just part of the virtuous no-frills philosophy.

That doesn't matter. Nowhere does it say they won't take it. They only say they won't take credit cards.

Which bit of you can use a visa debit card at Aldi don't you understand?
