A great shame for hardcore money savers as Aldi will have to increase their prices to pay towards the credit, meaning that those who do not need credit will not be able to avoid subsidising those who do.
I think that's unlikely. Aldi's business model is cheap prices and they wouldn't want to impact on this.
I suspect that accepting credit cards will increase sales as more people shop there. This increase in revenue and profits will enable them to keep costs at the same price.
I doubt it will have much impact on prices.0 -

I can't see it lasting long, logo's pinched etc. It'll probably get taken down as it looks official even though it has that small bit of text about what the page is about.0 -
You will all be pleased to know that aldi will start accepting credit cards in all UK stores from 13th oct.

Aldi is to start accepting credit cards at all its branches as part of its drive to attract more business from Britain’s struggling big supermarkets.
Letting shoppers pay by credit cards is the latest move by the German retailer to attract middle-class shoppers after expanding its range and introducing more upmarket goods. Its English stores, which will start accepting credit cards from 13 October, previously took cash and debit cards, which cost retailers less to process than credit cards. Branches in Scotland and some in Wales did accept credit cards.0 -
