There aren't any Aldi stores conveneintly located for me, but there are Lidl stores.
I tried to pay for my shopping in Lidl Eastleigh with my Aqua mastercard credit card and was informed that credit cards were not accepted. (I was trying to take advantage of the 3% cashback paid by aquacard.)
I proceeded to pay for the shopping with my RBS Visa Debit card instead.
Does this qualify for the RBS / Natwest debit card cashback spends?
Does the same system apply in Aldi?DFBX2016 #024
Target = £10804
Paid = £24340 -
The fact that it worked in their card terminal would be very relevant as it would prove that they do accept them and the worst "crime" they are committing is having out of date information on signs and their website (the CEO should be sent to the tower for this heinous crime).
It also still doesn't change the invalidity of your original whinge - ALDI can chose what cards they accept and where they accept them.
Thank you.
You have raised a very good point which I had missed before.
How does an Aldi customer know what cards Aldi accept ?
The only way to find out is when you reach the check out and when your goods have been scanned and you present your card to the card machine.
It can be very embarrasing if your debit card or credit card is rejected and declined0 -

Which bit of you can use a visa debit card at Aldi don't you understand?
You are incorrect It doesn't say that.
It doenst say anything in store about not accepting credit cards either0 -

No you are incorrect (again).
"Visa and Master Card credit cards are accepted in Scottish and selected Welsh stores only"How does an Aldi customer know what cards Aldi accept ?
Haven't you realised yet? Every other Aldi customer but you understands it.
Your behaviour here is just clearly obsessive without out the realisation that this is nothing to do with you (you don't run or won Aldi) and you seem completely unable to let go. These are not healthy signs of behaviour at all.0 -

I spoke to a gentleman at Aldi corporate logistics about an hour ago (he said it was a fairly large deparment).
He agreed that the signs are out of date. He did not comment about the customer service department.
He also said he is an MSE user.0 -

In my local Aldi they have a sticker on the sliding doors as you go in showing the various cards they'll accept.0 -
Ive been using my visa debit card in aldi for years with absolutely no problems at all.0

No they dont Accept VISA debit cards
check Aldis website and their only accept list and in store signs
IGNORE their website and try and visit one of their stores in England, as its been proven their FAQ on their website is outdated as they still mention Delta ( because the FAQ is outdated, does not mean they dont update their site) as most sites an FAQ is fixed questions that never really need updating.0 -
It doesn't say that in store at the 2 Aldi stores I have visited. Which Aldi store have you seen this displayed.

That's what it says on the website which is what you're going on about. Every Aldi I go to (I'm based in the south) says what they'll accpet.
Why can't you leave Aldi alone?0 -
That said - from my personal observation -Aldi's staff seem to work a lot harder -
True and that is because Adli will run a store with bare minimum staff ( ours at most is run with 6 staff at any one time) not like the big 5 with 200 staff chatting with each other.
so the 6 staff will do till work, stack shelves, sort out daily deliveries and even assist customers, so dont even have time to breath0
