Do Aldi accept Credit Cards/Cheques/Healthy start vouchers?
Aldi stores accept cash, Maestro, Delta, Solo and Electron card only. Visa and Master Card credit cards are accepted in Scottish and selected Welsh stores only. In line with many other retailers we no longer accept cheques in store.

This is from the Aldi website.

It's a shame they don't put this in their stores in England apart from Berwick upon Tweed.

    A Good Point
I think Aldi should consider trying to take some of Tesco's 30% and Sainsbury's 16% by accepting credit cards.....
1 They should start believing the customer is always right.
2 They should stop printing pallet loads of booklets telling us about welding rods on special offer adding to the UK litter problem..

How many customers do you think refuse to shop at Aldi because they don't allow credit cards? I'd say its less than 0.1% as those same people will have a debit card.

How many customers will switch from debit cards to credit cards when they start advertising the new payment method?

How likely is it that Aldi will start increasing the prices of products to pay for the new payment method?

Booklets don't cause litter, people do. If someone picks a booklet up inside and then throws it on the pavement outside they should be fined £75 for doing so.

How about me? I am the customer and I don't want to pay extra for the privilege of being able to pay by a CC. As their margin is much slimmer thn at other supermarkets this would be an inevitable result of starting accepting CCs.

    Am I right?

A very good point you made there. If your figures are correct then even more reason for Aldi to accept credit cards the cost would be minimal to them and may bring in more customers who choose to use credit cards.
I do not think that Aldi will make a financial loss by accepting credit cards at all. They should stop the unfair geographic ban on credit cards.

Wow so just because YOU don't live in Berwick and can't benefit from this anomaly you want to make sure no-one else does ? Nice !!

Odds of you succeeding rate somewhere along the lines of a snowball's chance in a furnace :)

I'd be more embarassed to be seen buying groceries with a creditcard than I would be having it refused at Aldi mind you. I've always felt only the fec kless use creditcards for groceries.

Anyone embarrassed to be seen buying groceries with a credit card is a fec kless edjit.

You even demonstrate this to all by having
