Thank you for pointing this out. It is a very good idea and If It becomes available I will will apply and if appointed immediately remove the silly geographical bias of only accepting Credit Cards in Scotland , parts of South Wales controlled by Swindon Wiltshire England, and Berwick Upon Tweed.in England.

I would ensure all senior managers, including the CEO, visit every store and carry out a Health and Safety inspection and Audit and a Cleanliness inspection and Audit reporting back their findings to the CEO who is ultimately responsible for the Health and Safety of Customers and staff.
I would rewrite the in store signs giving accurate information on cards accepted.
I would edit the company website to remove and then update the accept only list of cards
I would make better use of the printing space on the rear of Aldi till receipts.
I would totally overhaul Aldis Customer service section.
I would add a geographical telephone number for customer to choose if calling Aldis Customer service section.
I would make encouraging and improving communications with Aldi customers a priority
I would insist that customer security and their financial security be enhanced at all stores.
I would improve the pricing and labeling of goods in particular the goods in the catalogues which are never there when I visit.
    I would introduce online shopping.
I would introduce a customer loyalty scheme
I would introduce cash back points for users of all cards
I would ensure that all customers are offered cashback at every store

And by doing so you would impact on their profit margins forcing prices up and taking away the USP of Aldi.

No frills means just that, that is why they can be cheaper.

You do know that companies have no actual control of these as this is a Debit Card service that is offered at the time of the initial agreement is offered.

Is that the agreement with the retailer or the customer?

The OP is still under the illusion that Aldi is trying to compete with Tesco/Asda.

Rather that look at the fact that Aldi is a no frills budget supermarket like Lidl and will never be on the same level as Tesco/Asda

The agreement the retailer has with Visa and Mastercard as the card machines have to be programmed at the time to ask if CB is required. This adds an extras 0.6% onto the transaction charges ( at least it does for me) and has never changed. Not sure if this can be added at a later date as when i signed my agreement i opted for this to be added.
  • Someone needs to learn to go get a hobby or something, this thread is just one big joke, if you don't like Aldi then jog on!

Plenty enough more people out there who use it with no issues at all

Aldi has just opened its 500th store and is opening 50 more soon, some in affluent areas. I agree, some people cant seem to understand that its no frills and wont offer loyalty points.

As I said before, this miserable thread should be locked.

I've noticed a few things recently with CB. Local Wilkos briefly had an in-store (chargeable) ATM and stopped doing CB, directing customers towards it. They have since gone back to CB.
In Asda last week I asked for CB and was informed by the checkout operator that they were stopping CB at the checkout "because it caused long queues and there are two ATMs outside".

So if what you say is correct then it looks like Asda may be stopping it purely for financial reasons.

No profit margin is more important than the Health and Safety of customers and staff.

    Healthy customers mean healthy profits
    Healthy staff mean healthy profits

What is the USP of Aldi ?

Aldi proifts would hardly be touched by accepting Credit Cards.
