  • Aldi are so backwards. Not accepting cards as they cost money to process (so does cash to handle). And the cards they do accept, they don't offer cash back meaning more cash on premises which is a greater security risk and costs more to handle.

Argos warehouse receipts, why do some staff take them off your purchases at the collection counter and some don't?

Thank you for pointing this out to us

I think this is a step in the right direction for Aldi or is it more accident than planning..

I would like to think that is UK wide for Aldi but it may have a geographical bias.

Maybe its only for the England except for Berwick Upon Tweed , other parts of South Wales and North Wales

Just because Aldi or ANY retailer decides to do something in one of its stores even if they are trialling something then it is NOT geographical bias it is THEIR business DECISION.

an example of trialling is when Cadbury introduced their new Dairy Milk Mint Bubbly, they initially introduced this in the NE of ENGLAND and then in WALES before it was made available country wide. was this geographical bias or was it THEIR business DECISION to test the product before going into full production.
  • Jeez.

Who knew Aldi's credit card policy would be such a topic of conversation.
    Bad luck breeds bad luck.

well its gone from Aldi CC policy to their H & S Policy to vouchers and back to CC policy.

I think the OP should apply for the TOP job at Aldi and he seems to think he know what the public want

Thank you for pointing this out. It is a very good idea and If It becomes available I will will apply and if appointed immediately remove the silly geographical bias of only accepting Credit Cards in Scotland , parts of South Wales controlled by Swindon Wiltshire England, and Berwick Upon Tweed.in England.

I would ensure all senior managers, including the CEO, visit every store and carry out a Health and Safety inspection and Audit and a Cleanliness inspection and Audit reporting back their findings to the CEO who is ultimately responsible for the Health and Safety of Customers and staff.
I would rewrite the in store signs giving accurate information on cards accepted.
I would edit the company website to remove and then update the accept only list of cards
I would make better use of the printing space on the rear of Aldi till receipts.
I would totally overhaul Aldis Customer service section.
I would add a geographical telephone number for customer to choose if calling Aldis Customer service section.
I would make encouraging and improving communications with Aldi customers a priority
I would insist that customer security and their financial security be enhanced at all stores.
I would improve the pricing and labeling of goods in particular the goods in the catalogues which are never there when I visit.
    I would introduce online shopping.
I would introduce a customer loyalty scheme
I would introduce cash back points for users of all cards
I would ensure that all customers are offered cashback at every store
