OP it must have been very embarrassing. But, thank you for not exaggerating the story and above all not using the phrases scam, rip-off or the other hysterical comments we frequently get on here when people are upset.

No three bells.
We were still in the shop , opposite the tills filling the bags.
Yes we gave permission for our bags to be searched.
We had nothing to hide so i didn't see a problem with it.
Was a bit embarrassing , but i am sure we will get over it.

It hasn't put me off Aldi , although i will pay more attention in future as it was the wife that spotted the error and not me ..

Personally if I had a pair of curtains on my receipt and I knew I hadn't bought any then at the very least I would expect the staff member to satisfy themselves that what I was telling them was the truth.......wouldn't you?

The actual barcode error should have been spotted when whatever stock were placed on the floor system.

i know a few months back in our shop we had a stock of magic springs (slinky) , but the barcode on the individual boxes were saying they were toy mobile phones, but the barcode on the display box was correct

Well the stores DONT do/sell Vouchers and it was a STORE MANAGER that told me the tills were not equipped to handle vouchers.
