I hope you didn't drive out of the car-park only to return later with your query? Otherwise you might get a lovely invoice from Parking Eye for "overstaying" your welcome0

So Aldi input vouchers as cash on the till? Not very good accounting practice that.
When they cash up the till it will be down £10 cash but also happen to have a bit of paper with £10 - must be that.0 -
What isn't clear to me although maybe the OP will clarify... Were the curtains an additional item or did something else scan through as a "pair of curtains"? I'm sure a quick item count would have shown that up.
If it was the something else and they were refunded on that item then they got a freebie due to a fault with Aldi's pricing. Result?Just broke, even.0 -

Aldi have issued and accepted a voucher. Which YOU have said they don't do. Open a shut case...you are WRONG yet again.0 -
earthstorm wrote: »The Mystery will be that even if they send you Aldi vouchers that they dont do, then none of their stores will accept them as they dont do them
These are YOUR exact words. They do vouchers and they do accept them. So YOU are WRONG yet AGAIN!
Let's try to get you to answer a couple of questions:-
Do Aldi issue vouchers? Y/N
Do Aldi accept the vouchers they issue Y/N
I suspect you will bluster/ignore as usual though.0 -
no idea, but when i had 2 gross all the same it was annoying, I just printed off 2 gross of barcode stickers and had a member of staff spend several hours placing these over the wrong barcodes. Easier than sending them back and getting more that could have the same issueWere they part of a Spring Sale ?0 -
I didn't have to mention that thread here.
It's just that I thought there was such a lot of interest in Aldi here, that there just might be some interest in that other thread.
Seems I was right.
Hope you don't mind.
Sorry if I've upset anyone... that was not my intention at all.0 -

Aldi do vouchers and they are accepted in store, you stated they did not which was WRONG. It's a fairly simple concept really. As is you were WRONG yet again.
Remind us all again of the HMRC angle you put forward for Aldi being unable to accept vouchers?0 -
earthstorm wrote: »not even that as all they would need to do is have their printing firm make them with a barcode that gives a negative figure, then the epos scanner would just scan the voucher and deduct the amount.
Could Aldi do that? Could they also have a manual override to enter a voucher value? That's seems to be normal on any till system to be honest. Would the taxman want the fingerprints of the till operator to confirm?0 -
But if they started to sell them instore then it would have to register as vouchers for the sale and redemption, so barcodes is the best and cheapest option rather than software upgradesRichardD1970 wrote: »Why bother when they accept them as cash?0
