But they aren't (as far as anyone knows) going to start selling them in store but if they did then I am sure they have people who are quite capable of figuring it out themselves.
A hypothetical solution to a hypothetical problem, is there a bigger waste of time? :cool:0 -

yes they are teams that can work this out and they have decided they wont do this or allow their stores to scan manufacturers coupons.0 -
earthstorm wrote: »True, but my reply was to LeeUK who stated it would be fixed with a software update, which yes it would if they were to use gift cards, but vouchers can be created with barcodes.
No, LeeUK said it COULD be fixed with a software update, which is completely correct.
If they went down your method of giving someone a piece of paper with a simple bar code on it that acts as a £10 note, you'll be flooded with counterfeit vouchers. Not practical.
At least with a software update, you can use a hashed serial number on the vouchers to confirm the authenticity (could even check that the particular serial number was actually issued by HQ and not already used if the tills had a network connection, which I would expect to make management easier). Obviously, the HSN would actually be barcode in itself, but would be different for every voucher issued.0 -
Some people are way behind the times. Like what said above, vouchers will need serial numbers to stop fakes etc. Most modern ePOS systems are already networked to access live data. Any software upgrade would be done remotely, not some tech guy having to visit very store in the country to update the tills.

For your information on about September 20th we had a Credit Card refused I complained about the embarrassment caused and about the cost of telephoning Aldi if you are a Virgin media land line telephone customer. They did not follow up the complaint at all.
A few weeks ago I revisited the complaint it was on my "to do list".
I was going down the road of a subject access request (cost to me £10 to get a legible copy of CCTV from 2 Aldi stores and other data etc ) when a customer focused Area Manager involved herself and offered me a £30 gift voucher.
So you people had your shopping searched for the curtains ?
That sounds very humiliating to me , the action itself and then the curtains not being found ?
Had you actually left the building and then returned ?
Had another transaction been initiated on the till you had been served at ?
Did you give permission for your bags to be searched ?
Are you aware that for £10 you can initiate a Subject Access Request from Aldi.and they must supply you will a legible copy of any data they have of you including CCTV receipts letters any data they have of you.
All of this is a bit OTT isn't it? Sometimes life goes a bit wonky. You roll with the punches don't you? Not start hysterically ordering SAPs and CCTV footage."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Nothing OTT about kicking a company in the nuts as hard as you can if you make a complaint and they ignore you.
Customer service would be vastly better across the board if everyone stood up for themselves instead of "rolling with the punches".Je suis Charlie.0 -
Just out of interest 2e0arr. What have Aldi got to do to communicate to you they are happy operating as they are & don't intend to change the policy in the majority of England on debit cards? What can they do that will make you finally accept this?
Because you have communicated with directors, they all know about this thread. Don't you think it's about time for a line to drawn under something?
Again what have they got to do to make you understand this is how Aldi operates? Many Aldi customers such as myself and many others as you know on here are happy with it as we get quality goods for a cheap price. What have Aldi got to do to make you understand & finally accept this?0 -

I agree Aldi are behind the times.
Aldis instore signs are out of date and inaccurate
Aldis website is out of date and inaccurate
Their till receipt printing has unclear messages
Their customer service department is not fit for purpose.
The hypotheiical chat about potential implementation of something Aldi is not going to do fails on the point that Aldi do not pay attention to detail.0 -

Fine untill they ban you which the attitude you and the quoted poster have will end up being very likely!0 -

I have pointed out Aldis policies are silly unclear and without logic.Money-Saving-King wrote: »Because you have communicated with directors, they all know about this thread. Don't you think it's about time for a line to drawn under something?
If i gave this impression its incorrect. I have not spoken to an Aldi director, yet.
It is my intention to use some initiative and communicate with the Aldi directoers listed at companies house. I don't think its time to draw a line there is so much to do before considering this.Money-Saving-King wrote: »
