Just so the OP is aware in the New Aldi booklet on the rear cover it clearly states
Aldi, In store. accepts cash, Visa Debit, Maestro, Delta and Electron cards only. Visa and Mastercard credit cards accepted in Scottish and selected Welsh stores only. No cheques accepted in store.
No mention of Berwick upon Tweed

It may have already been said as too many pages to look back on but don't they realise that Berwick Upon Tweed is literally on the Scottish Border, in fact from my experience the Aldi store is on the Scottish side so therefore in Scotland, I know a few years ago there was a huge council tax argument as the people were paying different rates depending on what side of the border they were on.

Berwick may be just over the border in England, but most residence class it as a Scottish town, but then you just need to look at Quebec in Canada and how far it that from France, yet it has a French Quarter that class themselves as french and even speak french and go by french laws. How many cities have a China Town

Wow so just because YOU don't live in Berwick and can't benefit from this anomaly you want to make sure no-one else does ? Nice !!

Odds of you succeeding rate somewhere along the lines of a snowball's chance in a furnace :)

I'd be more embarassed to be seen buying groceries with a creditcard than I would be having it refused at Aldi mind you. I've always felt only the fec kless use creditcards for groceries.

    Nice.

no, just a point that any China Town in any UK city class themselves as china, but they are not in China are they, but they go by chinese culture, so yes Berwick upon Tweed maybe in England but most of the town class themselves as Scottish, so Aldi in BoT us managed by they Scottish HQ following Scottish Procedures.

I think you misunderstand "China Town"

They don't class themselves as China.
It's usually just a collection of Chinese restaurants and shops.
