Whoa... Imagine if this is happening to people everyday... Over the course of the year Aldi may be skimming millions off people... Note to self: Always check the bill0

Exactly. It all boils down to which staff member that prepared to goods for the shop floor, as yes you scan the item into the system and add the quantity for stock control purposes, but you also have to associate a price to the barcode.theforumking wrote: »Whoa... i.e. so if you scan a pack of Granny Smith Apples and it tells you have scanned a Ferrari, you should notice that its wrong rather than just associate the price of a Ferrari to the pack of Granny Smith Apples.0 -

What's happening? What did I miss? Have posts been deleted?
That holds true for all supermarkets and shops. Always check your receipt and change.
Damn, why did they move this thread, I've got to scroll all the way down the forum now instead of it being right at the top.

What isn't clear to me although maybe the OP will clarify... Were the curtains an additional item or did something else scan through as a "pair of curtains"? I'm sure a quick item count would have shown that up.
If it was the something else and they were refunded on that item then they got a freebie due to a fault with Aldi's pricing. Result?
True if a turnip had the bar code of curtains then when they removed the curtains from the receipt they got a free turnip ? Unless they scanned everything again.
Why didn't they cancel the whole shop on the receipt and then run the items through again to find the error ?0 -
they would not need too as just looking at receipt and the items scanned would have shown which item is in the shopping and not on the receipt, so that would be the mystery item, so they could just run that item through a price check which would then tell if the barcode was wrong.

Good to see my crystal ball still works.
