Bank notes don't have a bar code either, but they are entered into the till just fine, so what's the difference? Staff just place the voucher into the till and forget about it.
WRONG, they would log in the till £20 cash, so what do they do for the voucher, when the tills are not set up for vouchers, it has still got to be logged onto the till system. Manufacturer vouchers have barcodes so get scanned in. They cant log it as cash and cant log it as a voucher as their is no way to do this.

Comparing it to doing a degree doesn't make sense. It is a privately run company, not an institution for higher education. Aldi can do whatever they want. People don't like it, they leave.

If you look at the map of Aldi stores (which I'm sure you already have), Berwick is actually closer to the Glasgow and Edinburgh stores in Scotland than it is to the Ashington store in Northumberland. In fact it is the Northern most English store by a huge distance. Actually, looking at the map perfectly explains why it accepts CC in line with Scotland.

I'm not going to argue further, but I think you'll find out that it is you that is wrong - the staff know how to handle vouchers, and if one cashier does not, they can request help from someone who does. Just drop it already and admit you were wrong from the start.

Do not forget we ENGLISH "mus'nt grumble" and never violate our total obedience to APATHY!

In earlier posts i have pointed out that Aldi do not pay attention to detail and they do not pay attention to detail when it is pointed out to them.

I have also said a good way to judge any company is how they react to problems and how they react to customers.

Today I received a letter from the Aldi Customer services Manager.
He told me along the lines of Aldi were sorry that I find their signs confusing but after a review have no plans to alter them. He went on to say that all signage is reviewed on a regular basis.

It is my opinion that this response was apathetic from Aldi, and certainly not the German way of doing things.

and repeating I have also said a good way to judge any company is how they react to problems and how they react to customers.

I consider that other supermarkets would react in a totally different customer focused proactive and dynamic way. "We will put a team on it straight away ".

I am not surprised by the response from the Aldi Customer Services Manager after all Aldi are only a Global International company.

but like notes it would have to be logged on the system as a voucher which the till are not set up to accept vouchers. Although i forgot only certain MSE users are correct and everyone else is wrong so stop trolling my posts

Aldi vouchers don't have barcodes and yet Aldi stores process them. Least ways, they process mine, which is what I care about.:)

You are so right a University is an Institution, and must operate in business lines. Most Universities need to attract customers and their fees from around the world.

Most University students in England by necessity will need the use of a credit card.
However a university student in England apart form Berwick upon Tweed North Wales and parts of South Wales will be unable to use their Credit Card to shop in Aldi because Aldi has a silly geographical bias of banning Credit Cards except for in Scotland , parts of South Wales, and Berwick Upon Tweed.in England.

Aldi should operate as a business and cater for their customers in order to increase their profits even more.

If it puts your mind at rest Berwick does not have a University.

It is run by ALDI PR/Marketing Dept. , so yes they will pass anything not relating to PR/Marketing to CS, just like any company. If you contacted Tesco PR/Marketing they would tell you to contact Tesco CS.

Any companies social media sites are run by their PR/Marketing departments, they are not run by CS

(Text removed by MSE Forum Team)

No they're not... I know for a fact that Tesco, Sainsburys and KLM (airline) all offer customer service support via their social media sites as I have used them. I'm sure many others do as well.

Hominu I agree the staff will know how to handle this and before i even put an item in my trolley i will take advice from Aldi staff.

The Assistant Manager at my local store and Area manager know my intentions for why i will using this voucher which they are happy with

Hominu I can assure you that when I present this voucher for £30, which arrived today , at the till If there is the slightest embarrassment for me or my family Aldi and this Forum will know about it. But I am confident there will not be.

    LOL

    Thanks for that information LOL

By the way as mentioned in previous posts in case Aldi sponsor a University at Berwick Upon Tweed, there is a the River Tweed that students could jump naked into.

As far as apathy is Aldis response to its customers, go an take a running jump ?
