I was listening to SP music for 40 minutes...no wonder they have to put the bills up so much, they need to pay for their call backs!

Seems they can only take the part of my credit that relates to the electric...I have a credit for £206.77 still on the account for gas and when the gas has been sorted out they can use any credit to pay the £28.95 remaining on the electicity account!

He told me it is ok to cancel the DD as any credit they send me will be by cheque as their system won`t let them refund direct to peoples bank accounts (very odd!!!) but I am now cancelling the DD as somehow don`t think we will have used over £200 worth of gas in 6 weeks.

Phewww...need a large glass of wine now (but on antibiotics and can`t have one...)

coop to edf and electric only, changeover took place on 19th nov. I am still getting the same message on the edf site, waiting for information etc Readings were submitted to coop and edf on the 19th. I haven`t cancelled my dd to coop yet as they have to take some out of my bank account. It is all very slow but I am happy to be getting electricity so will sit tight

Just logged into SP and the final gas bill is there but not yet for full viewing.
It shows the final amount, which appears to be correct.
I started my switch on 20th Oct and today it looks as though it`s finally done.

Just two days ago SP "retentions" rang me to ask me to stay even though they knew I`d already switched to EDF.
He offered me a better deal, which was complete nonsense and said I would have to stay with EDF in December and be back with SP in Jan.
Are these people for real.

If these providers spent as much time and money trying to compete with each other instead of forking out £60 a switch to the comparison sites and all the admin of switching, we`d all be better off.

That`s it `til March 15.

Glad to hear you have made a little more progress, there is hope for me then regarding my gas. My only problem is I can`t log into SP to check just have to wait for their bill.
After they did a call back I was waiting over 40 mins last night to speak to SP ...no doubt some poor soles will have the cost of this call added to their gas bills...... surely someone has the brains to realise they shouldn`t be phoning people back until someone is actually ready at their end to speak to them!!! I`m glad to be out of it.

Hi,

I found this email address on MSE(somewhere)

social@scottishpower.com

I'd tried ringing them for my refund for £230 but could never get through to anyone, it really is soul destroying. Then found the email above and had a response within 24 hours, they've promised me a cheque within 5-7 days. We shall see!!

Good luck, hope you get your refund very soon.

I have today received an email from SP asking me to log into my account as there is a "problem with my account" .. so was a good girl and tried to do as they ask even though they closed my account down weeks ago and got the following....

We are currently in the process of finalising your account; this usually takes about three weeks to complete. Once your bill has been finalised, you will receive this by mail.
You can then pay your final bill quickly and easily at www.scottishpower.co.uk/myfinalaccount. You'll also be able to instantly access copies of past bills. All you need is your account number and postcode that appears on the final bill we send to you.

So really don`t know what they are upto!! I am waiting for my final gas bill, there is a credit of over £200 on the account so know I do not owe them anything...I`m really glad to be getting away from them. After the 40 min of waiting to speak to them the other day will not be ringing them, my number is on their records if they need me.

I give in!!!!

Just tried to log into my SP account but their site is down until Monday 8am.
I have a copy of my final electric bill but not the gas although I did see what the amount would be when it`s finally processed.
It looks as though they are both correct but I`m due a refund on my credit.
Just have to wait for the cheque now, I guess.

Yesterday I cancelled the DD.

I was reading an article today saying EDF will be giving the £12 government green tax rebate to their customers but NOT the other £40 to those on a fixed rate tariff, only those on a variable rate one.

I can see when everything settles down we`ll be on the move again!
Anyone thinking of switching to whoever should make sure there are NO EXIT penalties, so you can get out for free.
