Wish they had paid into my bank account, I will have the hasstle of having to go and pay the cheque in once it arrives or should I say when it arrives (they say it can take upto 10 days to be received....think they are having a laugh).
Hope you have a speedy reply 2010, I gave them 48 hours to reply to me yet it only took about 3!!0 -
Refund cheque arrived this morning! just waiting confirmation that the account is now zero!
Good luck 2010, hope you get a reply soon.0 -
Sent an email last night about 10pm and got the following reply at 11am today.
I have checked your account and the refund has already been processed for refund.
This has been sent via cheque as we no longer hold your bank details on your account, this should be with you within the next 5-7 working days.
So it looks like it`s all sorted and thanks to Tunnel again for the email address.
Thanks to Katies mum again for keeping me informed of progress.

:)Don't forget to keep an eye out for 2 important letters from EDF detailing all your Direct Debit payments. If you check your EDF online account it only shows the Direct Debit amount agreed in your contract when you joined. They take 2 Direct Debits before this, at different times, so you don't start your account in arrears. The Christmas post could well delay the 2 Direct Debit letters and cause you to go overdrawn with your Bank. Check out the attached link for additional info

I`ve asked for my DD to be taken on the 15th of each month.
So far nothing has been taken but when I log into my EDF account it shows a balance for my first monthly payment.
Because the 15th falls on a Sunday (tomorrow), I assume this payment will be taken from my bank account on Monday.
From what`s been said above, there will be another payment taken before the 15th Jan. and I should receive a letter stating the date it will occur.
So inside the space of one month, three DD will be taken.
We should be well in credit if this mild weather continues.0 -
Blimey, a wonder how much interest they will make doing this?? was going to pay the refund from SP into my EDF account but think I`d better wait and see what happens first. I haven`t had any mail from EDF.
Glad to hear your refund is on the way 2010.0 -
My Direct Debit was requested for the 15th of each month. My Electric was taken on 20th November and Gas collected 28th November and on Monday 16th my normal Direct Debit start. I have retired and have plenty of spare time on my hands to scan/file away documents, but I can see how easy it is to misplace/keep track of all these bits of paper. My account is supposed to be an online account, why are these DD not listed - EDF online system is not fit for purpose - I don't recommend giving any meter readings until your asked, from reading feedback they always try to up your DD when you give readings. If you check the bills yourself and if your in credit after winter ask for a refund.

I`ll wait and see what happens. Our DD is due on the same day as 2010`s so we can compare notes!!0

If your EDF online account shows Account balance £**** CR the DD amount will be collected on Monday. It appears that their is no consistancy in the way EDF collect the initial Direct Debit payment.
But you should have received written confirmation about this Direct Debit - ''Thanks again for paying your bill by Direct Debit'' with your Bank Details. I guess i'm the lucky one getting my initial payment split in two!

:)Sorry!
From reading all the comments made on this post in detail, it appears that EDF also send Direct Debit confirmation by email, that makes more sense if you have an online account. They are not consistant in the way they operate. Save Paper = Save Forest - I guess they are not too GREEN
