I've also checked mine but there's nothing, just a welcome letter and then another saying the switch is complete. I guess it'll settle down after a few months anyway but they still shouldn't be taking money before they've agreed to.2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
Thanks again for paying your bill by Direct DebitWe can now confirm that your first payment of £120.00 will be debited from your account on or
shortly after 12 December 2013. We will collect it at this time, so we don't start your account in
arrears. Your subsequent payments of £120.00 will then be debited from your account on or shortly
after the 12th of each month as you requested.
Each Direct Debit payment will cover £66.00 for your electricity and £54.00 for your gas.
If you are a new Dual Fuel customer please note we always send two confirmation letters,
I havn`t received any confirmation letter and oops I thought we were due to pay on the 15th!! yes payment was taken from hubby`s bank account on the 12th, hopefully this means next one due 12th Jan..but I will keep a careful watch.

:)I logged into my EDF account this morning and my Electricity account has disappeared, DD for Gas/Electric was taken from my Bank this morning. On all my previous online utility accounts they always had a full History of my DD payments, EDF just give a running balance. I would recommend keeping a seperate note of your payments from your Bank to EDF and double check when you receive a bill from EDF. A bill is issued when you give a Reading= an increase in your DD Payments by default - from reading feedback, unless you spend time and appeal against it! I'll check my usage after winter and if i'm in credit for +1 month payment, i'll give a Reading and demand a refund for the surplus and a reduction in my future DD Payments. :DIf i'm in the Red, i'll keep quiet and wait for a Reading on demand in 12 months time? and offer to pay the balance with by cashback credit card to keep my account in order!
Harsh words and poor reasoning never settle anything

Thanks frank777. I must admit whilst I was with SP I didn`t have any issues with DD`s etc and when I owed about £39 over the winter I paid straight away by card and my DD was never increased, in fact I ended up paying £10 a month less after the first 6 months than when I started so no complaints there, but they do like to mess you about at the very end!
Now I am pre-warned about EDF I will kieep notes on everything. Wonder why they don`t show a history of all payments made? If nothing else leaves our bank until 12 January and then on the 12th every month I have the refund from SP to top up if necessary.0 -
Payment gone from the bank today and showing in my EDF account.
Hopefully nothing happens now until 15th Jan.
Just waiting for the cheque from SP now.0 -
Hope it arrives soon. Like you will be watching and hoping nothing else leaves bank until January.0

Kaities mum,
Have you had your refund from SP yet?0 -
Hi 2010, I received my refund cheque in the 14th Dec and followingt since the email I received from SP (from the link that was quoted earlier in this topic) I have had the balance of £28`odd written off from the electiricty as SP messed up and quoted me incorrect information (luckily as I knew the time and date of the call they listened to it and confirmed I had been given duff info) I have also received a final bill for gas and electricity and ...phewww I am now free of them.

No nothing.
I had an email on 14/12/13 saying a cheque was on it`s way within 5/7 working days but it never arrived.
On 23/12/13 I lodged a complaint and they were supposed to contact me by today but so far they haven`t.
I fail to see what the problem is, they admit they owe me money and I can still log into my account and see my balance but they seem incapable of actually paying me what they owe.
Never again will I use this company, I`d rather use candles and a prima stove.0 -
Don`t blame you..they have given so many of us too much grief. It amazed me why they couldn`t just pay the money back into our bank accounts (after all they had the details).
Hope you get it sorted soon and lets hope EDF are better to deal with!!0
