Although...well, apart from food shopping i dont actually need to spend anything
So i am hoping that i will be able to save some £ between now and new year. We'll see!
Haha, great deal atushToo drunk to cook the turkey sounds like a great excuse to have a snooze on Christmas Day
I bought my wine deals earlier in the month and now have a big vat full of bottles of wine basically ... agreed with you, WantToBeSE, the point of Christmas day is to eat too much, drink too much and then have a snooze in the afternoon
I think I'm pretty well prepared for Christmas now ... just need to buy some potatoes and greens the day before.0 -
I am going to Tesco tomorrow god help me. With the storms last night, I am hoping the shelves aren't bare (as the stuff has to be shipped over).
It will be a zoo, and I expect i'll drop another couple of hundred.
Where do you think all those tesco CC vouchers I spent come from lol? I also spent 35 of them on a new blender (my old one cracked so O got a glass jug one) and Prezzo and Cafe Rouge Vouchers for my Uni students (20 of food costs a 5 quid voucher). At least I know they will have one decent meal next term lol.
Last year I bought 3 beds with them ;-)0 -
I got a lovely Christmas tip from one of my clients today. £20
Thats so lovely of them, i really appreciate it.
I put it straight into a card for my niece, as that's her Christmas gift this year, she wants cash. Saves me £20
I was mulling over the Christmas tip thing today. I was thinking that my 1 regular client who i have been cleaning for for the last 6 months, and who i get on really well with, didn't even write me a Christmas card let alone give a tip. Yet this client i go to today barely utters a word to me while i am there, and doesn't come across as all that friendly, and she is the one who gives a nice tip.
Nawt as queer as folk, 'eh!
Not saying that my regular client should have given a tip, just saying that i didnt expect one from the other client!
So pleased it's Friday tomorrow, i cannot wait for the weekend. i am planning on staying in my PJs from Friday 6pm-Monday 7am
Oh...i also have to do the food shop...eeeek!! I HATE IT!!!!0 -

Phew, i survived the food shopping! i was surprised to see that the supermarkets were not all that busy! Spent £87 for a weekly food shop as well as a few extra nibbles and a bottle of )morrisons version of) Archers.
A bit annoyed with myself as i have lost track of my bank account a bit. I have TCs and agency payments going in on Monday and payments (food shop plus some paypal stuff) going out. But my bank doesnt update weekend stuff until Monday.
So will just have to wait.0 -
You don't EVEN want to know what I spent at Tesco on Friday, and they didn't have everything. Gotta go back this morning.
Store will be heaving as no food yesterday as the boats were cancelled on the storms.0 -
I am guessing that you live on some beautiful remote islands, like isles of scilly or somewhere like that?
I finished the wrapping last night!0 -

I got a lovely text this morning from a friend who is very important to me.
She celebrates Christmas today and was texting me to thank me for her gift.
i LOVE to hear that people like what i buy them. I had seen this bracelet in a jewellers window for weeks and thought of my friend everytime i saw it. I knew she'd like it, but didnt think i could warrant spending £40 on it.
But she has been such a great friend for the last 4 years, and helped me through so much, that i bought it.
She loved itI am so glad i spent the money on such a wonderful person.
The pressies are all under the tree now (apart from the stocking fillers) and the boys are getting all excitedI bought a Nexus 7 for my youngest son today, £99. Didnt take it out of my savings though, so my £700 is STILL intact
It feels great to be entering the New Year with money in the bank, no matter how little the amount.0
