Also, at some point over Christmas and New year i managed to save another £162.67, bringing my current total to £862.67 :)
I am due an extra £96 in the next few weeks, for the days i have worked over Christmas and the NY, so that'll go straight into savings.

    Yay WantToBeSE!! :T:T:T :)
He is saving up money and building his own gaming laptop. Bless him, he is a very clever lad for only 14.

Wow, impressive!!! A well-paying career in gaming software beckons? ... enabling him to keep his mum in the style to which she would like to become accustomed? :)

Hiya Cathy, i have been reading your diary with interest! It'll be great for us all to have some moral support.
I think that on your diary i read some comments about how spending can alleviate boredom. I totally understand this!
I have now started trying to fill my time with free things. They may not always be exciting (think housework, DIY and all those little jobs that you mean to get around to doing but never do!) but it stops me spending.
Also we go out walking when we can. The older son (now 14) moans about this, as it's not exactly fun for him, but we all enjoy getting some fresh air when we can.
Also we have movie nights. My friend was recently having a clear out of her DVDs and gave us 10 of her old ones for free! So i bought a huge packet of popcorn kernals and we make our own popcorn and have movie nights.

3 of my clients should be paying me next week, so i should be able to save about £200..but we'll see.

Anyway, i am rambling on now! Great to have you on board :)

If you like walking, have you tried Geocaching?

Hiya TM6, great to see you :) I hope you are having a nice evening?

I have to admit that i have never tried geocoaching. I was put off by reading that i needed to use a compass...how sad is it that i dont know how to 'read' a compass. My 14 year old might know though. Do you do geocoaching?

You don't need a compass for Geocaching, I think you may be thinking of Orienteering.

Have a look at this website

    https://www.geocaching.com

Cornwall is full of fantastic caches. My parents live in St Ives and it is our 2nd home :D

    I am in SE Cornwall.
I used to love in North Cornwall, but moved to Plymouth to attend Uni, but missed Cornwall, so i moved to SE Cornwall.
Now i am tied here as the kids are settled in schools, so will be here for another 10 years. I plan to move back to North Cornwall once i am no longer tied here :)

Whereabouts in the world are you?

We live in West Yorkshire BUT if we can get jobs, we would love to move down to Cornwall... hence the need to save for the next 6 months (at least :rotfl:)

We are looking to re-locate for the start of the academic year
