    Thanks financialbliss (love your username!).

They are in a Natwest Cash ISA at the moment. The rate is a pitiful 0.5% at the moment, rising to 1% in January 2014.

Once i have improved my credit score, i plan to move banks. But am stuck there for the time being :)

If it's any consolation most cash ISAs are similarly crap (I'm sure you know that anyway, WantToBeSE). Don't know if you use annualcreditreport.co.uk to keep track of your credit record? They offer one free report a year, or used to, though I think if you want to find out your credit score (at least the one they give you) then that's not free.

    Good morning diary.
I am very very excited to announce that i have well and truly smashed my 1st mini goal of having £600 in the bank by the end of 2013.

    Total amount £765 :D:D

I got a refund for some stuff i returned, so was able to save some extra this week.
I think that's it for savings in 2013, i now need to concentrate on the rest of Christmas.

    Happy happy happy happy !

Fantastic news you have done really well to smash your target like that.

Hi Cathy. I am just going to trundle along with the capital one credit builder CC for the next 12 months, and see where i stand then. I would like to have a half decent credit score at the end of it.
I have heard about looking on noodle, but have not done that yet. I did look at experian about 6 months ago and it just confirmed what i already knew. I would like to see if there has been any change, but i cant try their trial 30 days again.

Hi Allie :) Thanks for subscribing! And thanks for the well done. Pretty much every day i see something i'd like to buy, or think or something i would like to buy...but now that i have started saving, i am getting that buzz and really love watching the savings grow.

Going to treat myself to a nice bottle of Rioja tonight!

re nice bottles of Rioja, I went for several of the ultra-cheap wine-buying deals on MSE and now have about five dozen bottles of red (all of which were at half-price or less) stocked up for the rest of the winter - yes on the one hand wine can be seen as an extravagence, I guess, but on the other hand few things content me more in the winter freeze than drinking a glass of red by a roaring fire while having a quiet and otherwise entirely cheap evening at home, and they'll take quite a long time to get through (I never can drink more than a third of a bottle of red in an evening - it's just too rich).

I was shattered last night. My 9 yr old son asked me to lie down in bed with him at 7pm...and the next thing i knew it was 8am this morning!!

I am having a nice relaxing day today, pottering about at home doing housework. Also i desperately need to get my car washed and hovered. Near where i live there are a small group of Asian men who set up a hand car wash and valet service. They do an amazing job. The wash only costs £5 and the wash and Hoover costs £7.

Anyway,.time for me to get up a(i am still in bed, typing this on my phone)!

Have been and had the car washed. I paid £10 instead of £7, as they have increased their prices. I also gave them a £2 tip as they did such a fab job :)

Have written my meal plan for the week:

    Pie, mash and gravy
    Smoky Chilli and JPs
    Fish Pie
    HM Pizza, avocado salsa, rice
sausage and herb casserole with mash
    Pad Thai, mini spring rolls.

Have worked out my dates that i am working for Christmas/new year and emailed the agency and my private clients. Just need to crack on with the housework now....

I am going to raise some cash by getting rid of my various shoes/boots on Facebook in the New Year.

I have also joined the frugal Living Challenge 2014 :) I am ready to batten down the hatches in 2014, and save my butt off!

oooooo, the Frugal Living challenge - sounds like something I could do with. :) I'll look it up on MSE - thanks for the tipoff, WantToBeSE :)

Re the Bay of E, I need to sell some stuff on there myself. It would help with the savings goal for 2014.
