I am getting my petrol money tomorrow, so that will mean i have over £600 in savings :)

I have done some overtime this week, so payment for that will also go into my savings account. Its not much, only about £30, but every £ helps!

Anyhow, you'll be pleased to know that i did NOT waste any money on clothes. So my savings are still in tact :D:D

I actually couldn't bring myself to spend anything, i want those savings to INcrease not DEcrease.

Yay!!! well done you, WantToBeSE :) :T:T:T:T:T
It sounds silly, but it's been very helpful to know that it's not just me starting from scratch. It can be intimidating seeing people on this board who have saved £1000s when i havent even been able to save £1000.

But that's exactly it, you just got started!! The one who saved £1000s, that will be you in no time :)

    Hi all.
Had to leave work early today as i am not well. Missed 5 hours work, so that's £40 grrrr !
The boys are off to their dads house tonight until Sunday so at least the food bill will be lower this week!

    Good morning, Diary :)

its been a funny old week or 2. Have been off work since i last posted, due to a killer migraine. Feeling better now though.
Due to no work, i have not had any wages this week (the only downside of being SE), so havent been able to save any £.
I am still trying to decide what days i will work over Christmas. The agency closes for 2 weeks (21st-6th) but i think i'll just take Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, NYE and NYD off. I cant afford to take the whole 2 weeks off.
I need more savings. I am hoping that my clients will start giving me Christmas Bonuses! :D

As long as i enter 2014 with £600 in savings, i will be happy.

Thanks Cathy. I cant imagine that i wont either..only about £20 to go. Christmas is almost upon us now and i am pretty much done, apart from £10 gift vouchers for all of my family.
I need a new tree though, so need to find a nice 6ft one within the next few weeks.
  • Hi WantToBeSE - thought i would drop by to see how its going for you.
The attitude is changing i can see that. When you couldn't bring yourself to spend. Mind you don't go the other way when things really need replacing.
Those targets on savings and investments can seem off putting but just remember how far you have come. I started last year heading up to £1000 then this was down to £500 by July. I am back towards target now though. I think I have also gained more knowledge into how to think about 'spends' The savings diary really helps me. I even managed to comfortably put by an extra £40 from this months amount. This won't happen every month but its another option.

    Carry on the good work.
    Back on the trains again!

Incredibly organised! I've barely even thought about Christmas. Actually I should get cards sent off to the rellies in Oz, it's almost too late already ...

Had my new client today. She was really pleased with the work i did, so made instant payment online. £30 earned :)
Not sure if i am going to put this straight into savings, or use it towards Christmas...i will see.
My mum transferred some money into my account this morning, for the boys for Christmas. So i am going to log into my OLB in a sec and check what i have in there, what needs to be spent, what needs to be saved and what i need to keep in there for DDs etc.
