So they knew they had f right because your finger twitched. The next letter had to be a vowel.By then as you said you were showing signs of amazement so all they had to do was watch you to see when the glass was moving in the right direction. After a few letters it would be easy to narrow down the word so easily guess the next letter. After the first word, certainly two, it's easy to work out the song.
And how do you know the room and people weren't wired up? Did you take equipment and do a full sweep?
From the letter F you can work out the name of a song, my god you are a genius. Im not even going to comment on the rest oft he reply as you are obviously on crackAll the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
At the point where the Board came out I would have been putting on my Coat and calling it a day.
I'm not someone with is spineless, and gives in to peer pressure and that sort of stuff has been against my code of ethics since I found out it existed in about 1981.0 -

That is impossible. Ouija boards were created as a game. You cannot contact spirits.
I'd say there's more to be gained from listening to the gossip in the staff room.
Ouija boards are a dangerous bit of Equipment and was not created as a Game it origins come from Glass Divination which is old as the hills. The moden day Ouija board was created in an time when we embrace the Dead. We would have photo of dead family members sitting with the living and would try to contact the dead.
Clearly from your statement, "it is a Game" you have never used one, or even seen a real one but the world was once
believe to be flat and you would fall of the end.0 -

But there has never, ever, been a single scrap of evidence that anyone can get into contact with dead people. And there never will be, because common sense tells us it is a ludicrous proposition. They are dead, simple as that.
All, not most, mediums, fortune tellers, spiritualists etc are fakes. Their motives may vary. But the fact remains that they cannot contact the dead. They may, of course, hear voices in their head, but that is treatable these days. People who fall for all this nonsense are often vulnerable and bereaved. There are some who desperately want to believe and cannot part with their money quickly enough. They may be stupid but they do deserve protection from these charlatans.
If I wish to 'sit in judgement' on the stupidity of people, I shall do so. It is not narrow-minded to regard all this nonsense as a money-making scam, it is common sense. You would laugh at an adult who believed in Santa Claus or fairies in the garden, so why should this be given different status? If you make ridiculous claims, be prepared to be ridiculed!:p
The court oath is a throwback from the days when religion was used to control the masses. It is not used as often as you may think. I have given evidence in court countless times, and always affirmed. Plenty of criminals swear for effect, then proceed to lie with impunity. It is meaningless.
You should watch Derren Brown. He does everything these mediums do, yet makes no bones about the fact that what he does is nothing to do with the supernatural and he has no such powers. He has demonstrated how people's minds can be influenced and controlled, and that you can convince people of just about anything. He has also discredited so-called mediums, notably Joe Power.
I would not laugh at those people. I might think they were misguided or delusional, but does that give me the right to laugh at them?? That is very unkind.
Just to say (as a Christian) that I do not believe these people speak to the dead. I do not believe you can speak to the dead. That is not to say that I think the Ouija is harmless, because I don't.
However, I will say that there are lots of things we don't know the truth of and we should not dismiss something just because we don't understand it.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

But not impossible eh. From the letter F it could just happen to be a song which the other person is familiar with and they simply guessed. It could have gone either way. I'm not saying this is what happened but its as likely an explanation as any surely.
I've a special secret funny thing which only my mum and I knew. When she passed I went to see a number of mediums who were amazing and awesome apparently. But, to date not a single person has told me the special word I have relating to this funny story, the word mum would say to validate her being there. I wonder if Derren Brown could guess it?
Ultimately though, if believing your dad spelt out the song is giving you comfort then I really don't see the harm in it. I'd quite like to believe we go on somewhere else and I'll see all of my loved ones again. If I die and there is nothing, well, I won't know anything about that will I. I do think mediums extracting money from people is wrong but they do give people a service which in some cases meets their need to get through each day. I'm pretty sure my best friend is only here today because she believes she spoke to her 21 year old son after he was murdered, she believes he is still with her and that gives her strength. She's been through grief counselling but it was only after she saw the medium that she slowly started to live again. I'm on the fence about it all really, personally I don't believe its real, I wish it were though:A

I love threads on here about religion or the possiblity of life beyond death.
Far from having a mix of interesting opinions like all other threads it also brings out the 'I'm right, you are totally wrong and l have to insult you' brigade.

Ok, humour me here. If Ouija is real, why doesn't the glass move without at least one finger on it?
And if spirits really did want to communicate with you, wouldn't they be able to find some way somehow without needing to wait for a spooky sesh with your drunk mates to take place?Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -

Please, watch some of Derren Brown's stuff. He does some phenomenal, mind boggling things and explains it all. He is very open as to how he is able to garner information from people without them realising and it's nothing to do with "spirits" or the "supernatural". It's a brilliant ability to read and predict human behaviour. He also specialises in NeuroLinguistic Programming.I have a simple philosophy:

Bloody teachers and their voodoo black magic. What next, sacrifice a lamb on a desk, bathe in the blood and call down the spirit of Legba, while adorning themselves with feathers and war paint? What has this country gone to?0

Of course if you randomly ask someone "Hey what's the song I'm thinking of beginning with F?" they will obviously more than likely not get it.
Give the same person the context and subject matter, "Father" is probably the first word they'll think of after being given the F.0
