You started it off though and they were still touching the glass.

So power of suggestion, cold reading, lucky guess. Especially if they have done Ouija before. You really should look up and see how it is "possible" for someone to pick up random facts. It only takes one.

Would you prefer someone said your Dad came through and is up there in heaven?

it must be a very lucky guess 26 letters of the alphabet to choose from and my finger moved off the glass as it began to move, so I had no influence of the letter that was chosen first. Ive said this so many times. I wanted to catch them out as im a sceptic. I wanted to prove them wrong

Your finger was initially on the glass though, so yes it well could have. You'e also ignored how people can glean random facts from cold reading, power of suggestion and signals. Not 26 letters, one single song.

Once they got the first letter, it's really not hard to understand how people could be influenced, even if you can't think that deeply. Especially with people who do Ouija "regularly".

You admit yourself to giving off signals of amazement.

I would suggest you watch the Ouija board episode from Derren Brown for an idea.

If you can't accept/understand the power of psychology.

Then the only explanation you will accept clearly, is that you Dad came through. There is no more discussion.

The scientific endeavour of testing a hypothesis is the antithesis of belief.

If they didn't believe there might be a change they would not bother with the experiment in the first place. They have an expectation as they can never be sure of the result, it might do this, it might do that but there will be a subconscious/conscious belief that something might/will happen.

I was not touching the glass after it moved, it was quite fast and I was watching the other 2 fingers to see if the nail went white with the pressure of pressing. I was not looking at the letter when the glass moved, I was watching fingers to catch out the 'pusher'

As soon as the glass went to the letter F of course I was suprised. Even if anyone was doing any trickery, just getting the first letter is an achievement, not impossible but bloody lucky, then getting a vowel one of the 5 is again bloody good too. So lets say the first 2 letters were right in a coincidence of chance 'FA' and by now im looking at my wife and nothing else as I thought this is good. So now you are telling me that one of these 2 people knew what a song was out of 20 million?

Baring in mind I had never spoke to these people before in my life. I had only met them some 3 or 4 hours previous and there was absolutely no mention of my brother in any conversation we had at any time, period. (my brother killed himself and I find it embarrassing as a subject matter as its a easy way out of life and also do not like to tell people when they ask questions) so I never said a thing about my brother at all.

Now this was pure out of my head and not thought about until this moment.

I asked my dad was my brother there, (obviously he would be he's dead, and the fixers would know this so its a easy 'yes' for them)

ok, so I again was told to ask my brother a question that no one in the room knew the answer, again something not obvious.

So I said to my brother and again this is the truth.

'(brothers name)........What did you steal from fishing boats to make a little extra cash when we were kids?'

Tinkerbell this is a very easy question and so obvious so what was the answer????

Look most people who do Ouija boards like this are experienced cold readers.

Instead of being a psychic with a crystal ball, they use the ouija as a prop.

Have you actually watched any of the Derren Brown stuff? Or any cold reading to see how they can get the most random of facts correct? With no psychic ability at all.

As I said in an earlier post. I saw a psychic this year. They came out with a couple of phenomenal facts. I'm talking awfully personal, precise, to the date/number, nothing anyone could have know at all.

Spooked me a bit how easily I could be read, as I went in with an open mind and to be honest if I "believed" or actually had a relative I wanted to contact (I don't) then I would probably latch onto this amazing proof that someone was there on the other side and in communication.

It would be easy for me to ignore the 90% that was completely and utterly wrong however....as he did get some stuff 100% scarily accurate :eek:

But then I have seen cold reading in practise and it was no different, I understand the psychology on a basic level of how all this can work.

You say from your posts you're a sceptic, but it's very clear from your posts, you aren't. You truly believe your Dad came through and brought your brother with him. As you won't accept any explanation, or "rational" reason and now your posts are getting quite emotional. So I think it's best left, you believe they came through, that obviously gives you comfort (despite words to the contrary) so I wish you well. As no one will give you the answer you're looking for. You don't want people to say it is possible, it was not your Dad or Brother talking to you.

If God or Jesus made an appearance in the Darren Brown show, they'd be totally ignored. Why? everyone would be looking for the bell and whistles they have just been given as proof. So it would become totally unbelievable, besides everyone would be asking themselves

Why would God be appearing in such a down market programme, the answer. Because he can!! LOL

Bottom line, there will be no pleasing everybody!!

Completely irrelevant but..... If God or Jesus made an appearance on a tv show or anywhere in the world then the entire scientific world would be watching and listening with bated breath.

But the fact is neither God nor Jesus have ever appeared, therefore the likelihood of them existing is pretty slim......given that they've had centuries to "re-appear" and they haven't.

Well said. But I wouldn't count on it. The lure of floaty-carpet nonsense like ouija boards seems to be overwhelmingly compelling for a certain type of mind.
