Hi all, sorry to ruin the Christmas mood, had another text.

'hi are you going to let us see WIGLET before xmas cuz he won't get his presents else as there to bulky to post? please lets settle this its not good for WIGLET, I know you can be stuborn but please just txt back? im not harassing you! id just like to see WIGLET before Christmas and I cant exactly contact him myself can I, ive been to the solicitors and they will be writing to you, I really want to avoid court MY NAME as it will only harm WIGLET please don't let it get that far! just txt me ack and let us see him everyweek again that's ll I ask, love to WIGLET xxx'

I had a good day out with wiglet and he had fun with his dad, now my positive mood has just deflated! No-one is doing anything!! Sick of these 'oh i'm not harassing you' BELATANT texts! Just go away you idiot and let us be!! I don't want anything to do with her and want to enjoy my December in peace!!!

Definitely time for that injunction Wiggy!

Don't worry about her statement "my solicitor will be writing to you", at most, all he can currently do is request contact. If you take out an injunction, he cannot over-ride that, no matter how many letters she pays him to write. And ignore the threat of court she won't have a hope in hell of getting access without your permission, especially with her *ahem* behavioural issues.

At least she appears to have taken on board that you are serious about staying away. And she knows that she will be in trouble if she comes round so that's the reason for all of the texts.

Ignore it for today, you've had a nice time, don't let her bring you down. Keep the text (don't look at it anymore) and see the police on Monday if you can.

Obviously, your silence (and the fact that she isn't scaring you any longer) is killing her! :T:T

Ignore, let it go in one ear and out the other and see about that non harassment order as soon as you can

What does your mother think counts as harassment if making empty threats about court and lawyers isn't?

If I remember rightly the first letter only said don't contact wiggy - it would be worth asking if the next one could say both wiggy and wiglet. Which says a lot about how unmaternal your mum is that she doesn't realise you come as a pair!

+1, time to step up on the legal front and include wiglet in the order.

I cannot help feeling her text was a bit begging compared to the previous texts, maybe the penny has finally dropped that you are serious. Her feeling sorry for wiglet as if he is missing part of his life just because she can't see him sets my teeth on edge though. Don't worry about receiving solicitor letters as they would only be begging letters, just like her text seems to be.

If I was to respond this (but as others have said previously don't) I think it would be along the lines of
" which part of don't contact me don't you understand as my solicitor is eager to explain to you."

I def agree with taking out an injuction or whatever you need to get it through her thick head, She will keep on until you take it further.Can you contact the police asap, dont wait until Monday.

At an intellectual level, wiggywoo, this letter would be fascinating to see. Any solicitor that got involved in such an action would have to be desperate and unscrupulous, because it has absolutely no chance of success and they would therefore be reduced to writing hopeless letters at fifty quid a go in order to pay the rent. Quite how they would formulate such a letter in order to both get paid by your mother and not get struck off when you complain to the regulator would be interesting to observe.

However, getting solicitors' letters is not fun, even if they are comedy letters with no possible basis for a successful action. It's worth remembering that a solicitor's letter has absolutely no force in law; it's just a letter, written by a solicitor. So if such a letter does arrive (I'll bet you it doesn't, but it's possible she's found a solicitor silly enough to take the money) keep calm, take advice, breathe deeply, come here if necessary, and remember that she has no basis whatsoever for getting the time of day from a court and is just trying to mess with your head.

Please don't let any letter you do receive from a solicitor upset you Wiggy. Keep in mind that they don't know you. They are advising your mother on the basis of what she is telling them.

My MIL's sent me a few letters, all designed for them to be able to say to a court "look we tried to be reasonable, but she ignored them". He honestly believed MIL had a good chance of getting access, but that was because he thought he was dealing with a drug-addled, unfit mother who'd taken two little girls away from the grandmother who'd practically brought them up single-handedly because she was in a strop. The only person who walked out of the court with a smile and a legal order in their favour was me.

You need to take the next steps now lovely. She's still not seeing you and wiglet as a unit. She thinks she can avoid you, but see him. There is no acceptance (or even understand I'd bet) from her that your actions are FOR Wiglet. Speak to the legal people again, she needs to be made aware that texting you to continually ask for access IS harassment.

And if you get a solicitor's letter, just what do you think it would say?

Something like "I represent your mother, Mrs X, who has requested that you allow her to see her grandson Wiglet on a regular basis".

There are absolutely no legal reasons as to why this request should be made and all it would do is to give you a paper record of her harrassment of you! Please don't let it spoil your weekend! x
