Look - let's not spoil Wiggy's Christmas with the Wiglet by putting these ideas in her head!

Wiggy is keeping Wiglet safe - she has no intention of communicating with her mother or her sister - unless via solicitor/police. And short of breaking in and abducting the child, her mother will not get her claws into Wiglet.

Just keep calm Wiggy, enjoy Christmas with Wiglet and - hopefully - your neighbour and her little ones. You are a strong woman! x
  • I don't think that wiggy is taking that risk tbh Duchy. She is doing everything she needs to protect wiglet. So far she has shown that she is not willing to risk this situation arising and is therefore taking all formal and sensible steps to prevent this from happening. There is no way she is going to hand wiglet over and she has made that clear throughout her posts. The only way would be to snatch him when he isnt with wiggy and given that the child minder is the only other person alone with wiglet and that she has been briefed thoroughly by wiggy on the situation, she is not going to hand him over to a stranger.

I don't think we should be scaring wiggy with these thoughts. She is fully aware of what might happen given that they've tried it before (the oar incident). She is doing all the right things but needs to be getting on with life and providing a safe secure environment for wiglet to thrive in, one in which he feels calm.

Keep going with the legal route, it's your best form of protection wiggy.

Wiggy sorry if you have already mentioned this, but is Wiglet's father on the birth certificate? If not, how much would it cost to add him?

I have no experience of this sort of thing but I wondered if Wiglet's father could legally take Wiglet off your mum, or stop her from getting him, if it ever came to court.

That doesn't make sense as even if Wiggy's mother did get hold of Wiglet Wiggy has already taken steps to ensure it is clearly on record that all and any concerned authorities have written records showing Wiggy is a good mother. The concern is not that Wiggy would lose custody but that her mother may try to abduct him (as she has previously threatened)-as she is unaware of the steps Wiggy has taken and sending the police around to "retrieve" him would be upsetting and confusing to a young child. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Wiggy's Mother would get anywhere legally.

As Wiggy's mother has the key to the entrance, I would be concerned about coming home one day to find her waiting inside. That would be horrible!

Getting the key off the mother is really important for Wiggy's peace of mind.

You seriously don't think that they wouldn't abduct the child despite the threats to ?

Not a risk I'd take with MY child but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

I just don't see the point in speculating. And if you look at MY previous posts at every turn I've said that the OP should get legal advice and an injunction

I don't have kids btw. I just don't think posts saying they are going to abduct the child are helpful.

Particularly given the stress the op is under.

The op has been given a lot of good advice on the thread.

I hope that things are sorted to her satisfaction legally soon.

And if they are going to abduct the child as someone else said, a call to police would sort it, as they have no legal right to take him.

Plus. With an elderly relative who lives with them I'd be very surprised if they tried to run off with him anywhere.

I think it's a one day at a time situation. And once some kind of order is in place, that's the worst case scenario sorted.

And we all interpret posts differently. I just don't see the point in stressing out the op unnecessarily.

You're assuming a woman who threatens to abduct a child and who ignores letters warning her to stop harassment is in any way reasonable or firing on all cylinders.

But if they did take wiglet, the police could and would break down their front door to return wiglet. It would be kidnapping, short and simple. She would probably get arrested on top.

The only way mum could possibly keep it vaguely legal would be to take wiglet and immediately call the police. SS would then have to intervene and get an emergency court order to remove wiglet formally.

Mum isn't going to draw attention like that and a court order to return wiglet would only be necessary if the person who took him had PR. Even if mum did, there is almost certainly enough documented history to get the police to resort to the first option (break down front door).
  • Wiggy is fully aware of her mothers previous behaviour, threats etc, and has taken excellent steps to prevent a repeat attempt, no point in making up scenarios like these to stress her out.

Hoping the migraines are better and Wiglet is getting excited for Christmas! My 2 year old knows Santa, and Rudolph but dont think he has grasped the whole Santa bringing presents, flying reindeer part just yet. Maybe next year! xx
