Oh wiggy..... I've been reading since you first posted.

You've done brilliantly & you are very strong. She's realised this, hence the all out attack tonight, but you've done it!

Big hugs & admiration my lovely! Xx
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Just joining to point out another good thing that might happen if SS are informed. They just might take a look at your mother and then give your sister the help she needs to break free of her too!

  • I rarely post, Wiggy, I just read. But honestly, huge hugs. I am so impressed with what you put up with tonight and everything you have achieved.

You are a strong woman who is putting up with a load of rubbish and doing the best thing for yourself and your son.

I would come and help you if I could and you needed it.

Hope you manage to get to sleep tonight, Wiggy.

If you're still a little shaky, and you have a hot water bottle in the house, you might find that it helps you to relax your muscles.

Edit: with hot water in, obviously!
  • Morning Wiggy,

How are you doing today? hope you both managed to get some sleep last night.

    Thinking of you.
  • Hi we slept ok, I had a nightmare about her breaking in, smashing window, me taking 'Wiglet' and legging it to the bathroom, the only other room with a lock, just crouching by loo with my scared tot.

But all's ok here. So far. I had a bit of scare yesterday morning, as the day before I'd done some cleaning out. I'd accidentally left the door unlocked and unbolted all night, luckily I realised as we were heading out early.
Up and onwards to the future!

Have read all, dear Wiggy and Wiglet - another chance crossing of paths as I switched putah off last night...2 hours later, eventually.

Just chiming in now with yorkie to sing the comfort/ curative/ renewable /portable/ heave-overboard-when-you've-had-enough bliss of the Hot Water Bottle. Hope you are snuggled together, sharing a story and some silly, giggly games right now. Won't be long before that young man will be bringing a Morning Cup into Mummy as Brekkie in Bed treat.

Wiggy - it's a new day like a new tide, and you too are full of strength all over again. The muck and mire of dysfunctional yesterdays are sluiced away, gone. It's a new day, with no mistakes on it, to paraphrase Pollyanna.
'Clich! me no more!' cries Wiggy.
All your supporters, within which huge and whole-hearted clan I hope I may count myself, will be thinking of you, sending every power-enabling wish your way, with full courage....and even if you are not a rugby person, you may find watching Le Match this afternoon cathartic.
[As a kiwi, I am of course intending to defeat you]

I'm unsure where you are, but your Library can be a splendid and safe place for you BOTH to spend an hour or two - groups, activities for you and Wiglet. Cambridge Central, within my orbit, is a splendid example of this, even in these straitened times.
Catch up on Grauniad, Torygraph et al. Give yourselves normalcy, sanctuary, the reassurance of a wider world not proscribed by mania.

    Soft hugs, &.

Be prepared that the letter may arrive on Monday and not tomorrow, the post can be a bit late sometimes, Ive waited up to a week for first class letters to arrive.
And if it was sent signed for / recorded, it could be either:

    a) Rejected by the intended recipient because they have to sign for it (does happen with some companies)
    b) The intended recipient isn't home at time of delivery, so the letter has to go back to the delivery office

Still, Wiggy, you've done great! As others have said, if your mum comes back again after getting the letter, should you need to call the police, dial 999 give them the crime number (or any reference you were given this time) and state you are a lone female with a young child and you are in fear of your life.

This should (legitimately) bump you up the priority list for them to attend.
  • Hi Wiggy, just been following your thread, you are an amazing person! I am in awe of your ability to handle this situation the way you are doing! Just wanted to delurk to reassure you about the police contacting SS, I believe this is just standard practice to any incident/callout where a child is present (I work in a hospital and have to do something similiar). Its not anything personal against you, or your situation, and as others have said, I fully expect it will only help your situation, especially as you managed it so well!
Hope the wicked mother gets the point with the letter and backs the hell out of your life!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that this will be the last of it xx

Hi wiggy, just caught up again with your thread, I cannot believe your mother, what an evil witch, I am pretty sure she has a mh problem.
You are so brave and deserve so much better than your family give to you, Stay strong and remember you have a lot of support on here but I would encourage you to have your neighbors in for coffee and a chat, there is safety in numbers so to speak and at least they be able to give you an early warning if they spot her close by.
I hope you have a nice day today with your little one.
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

    UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted
