Pets on/in the bed

My cat comes through with us and jumps up ontot he bed. During the night she will go through to the kitchen when she's hungry and then come back. The problem comes when the doors are closed when the heating goes on and then she will stroke my face to tell me she wants to go through.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

When one of my dogs was younger and we only had him, he slept in bed with me and the ex every night. Once we got the other one, they both slept in bed with us for a while but then I couldn't cope with the snoring and bed hogging. Now i'm on my own, I tried having them back in bed for the company but the snoring still drives me mad so they sleep downstairs now. Think happy & you'll be happy

I don't have any pets now but when I had cats one would sleep under the dressing table, and in the morning would walk up the bed to see if my eyes were open - if they were I was then walked across, nudged and purred at until I got up and fed her. I soon learned to keep my eyes shut if I wanted to lie-in!
My other cat wasn't a lap cat, he would sleep downstairs - usually in the back lobby until daylight then he would stand on the stairs and meow loudly.
They weren't over keen at being on the bed though, unless it was day time, no-one in the bed and there was a nice patch of sunlight there...0 -
My three cats sleep cooried in to my legs and feet, and now that it's cold the electric blanket is on its all night setting, and we all drift toastily off to sleep.
Before that, one of them likes to come in under the covers for a wee cuddle, but only for 5 minutes, with purrs at maximum volume, then she slips out to her spot against my legs for the rest of the night. Her litter mate is not a lap cat during the day, but some nights I waken to find her draped on top of me.
I live on my own, and the cats are my family these days. I love the closeness we have, and having been somewhat unwell with a long term condition, and with a reduced social life as a result, the company is very cheering, specially when sleep is broken. Cats to pet, a cuppa from the bedside kettle and a few games on the Nexus 7 are good diversions for the wee small hours. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

How do you tell a dog not to scratch the door to get to you? How do you discipline it when all it wants to do is be near you? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

My ex (note that bit;)) husband definitely had worse personal hygiene than my 2 cats. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

One of my cats used to do the same, although if my eyes weren't open he would gently pull one open and peer in.0 -

My old cat would gently nibble elbows or toes to wake you up in the morning.
Current girl cat doesn't sleep on the bed but does jump on you in the morning to wake you up for food, she'll stand on my chest and nudge me with her head. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

My last cat just used to stick his paw in my mouth. There was no way I could pretend to be asleep and he knew it.0
