I've voted 'no pets in bedroom', although that only applies to dogs in my case. I don't mind my cats going on the bed.

Our doglet sleeps in our bed, under the duvet with us. It happened by accident - we had rules we she first arrived.

But hey, lack of room, paw prints on the covers, grit and gravel in the bed, all made up for when you wake up and see a sleepy dog face lying on the pillow like a human! :blushing:

As someone who ends up sharing her bed with up to 7 cats at a time I have no problem with it lol

The dogs arent allowed upstairs just because that's where the cats are so no issues there.

I like having them on the bed with me it's a great comfort especially as OH is only home 1 night a week

Some people hate others love it, and a whole spectrum in between.

I do not mind it at all - though massive job to keep clean and as hair free as possible. My oh does not have problem with it, though as new relationship animals are kept out for the moment - much to their annoyance - one whining scratcing dog at door all night and a loud meowing cat ...............I am sure over time they will venture back in when he stays. But have invested in new bedding for humans only evenings

You train it not to, much as you would a child. That's just an excuse for you letting it do what it wants. Children want to be near their parents but most of us insist they sleep in their own beds.

When my kids were babies and they cried for me they got me. Same with my dogs.

I had rules for my kids, I have rules for my dogs that weren't/arent to be broken but crying after me isn't and never has been one of them.

Under the covers is a definite no-no. Our cat comes in for a morning cuddle Sunday mornings and I could never do without it. Our pup however likes to lie between us and I don't know how we'd sleep without him now! Especially nice hot water bottle with the cold weather rolling in :D

Edit: The reason why cat isn't allowed in the bedroom during the week is because he is a right little sh*t. He normally decides he's had enough at 3-4 a.m. and knows exactly what to do. We always close the downstairs door and the bedroom door, and there's a cupboard door right next to our bedroom door which is always ajar. He plucks at the cupboard door so it hits the bedroom door, which causes both me and OH to leap out of our bed. Then once we're awake, meows until we let him out. If we've both had a bit of the grape or grain and this doesn't work as we're comatose, he'll sit on my face and wake me up via suffocation, then run straight to the door. What a !!!!!!.

When we had dogs, they weren't allowed in the bedroom, let alone the bed.

Rocky has access to the bedroom but hardly spends the whole night with us, just generally makes sure he's around for feeding time in the morning.
unless for whatever reason i'm sleeping alone. he's my feline protector, apparently, and feels it's his job to be close by when husband is out the house.
he doesn't do it anymore to me as i don't sleep on my back atm but he'll sit on your chest and stare at you until you wake up. it's a bit of a sudden start lol
we've just moved out of my parents where he had to be in the conservatory overnight and i really missed having him around but he was ok with the deal, long as he got fed in the morning lol
when the baby comes he'll be kept out of the room in which she's sleeping, either ours or the nursery as i don't want him thinking he can share with her!

  • Our lovely furbaby sleeps on the bed, but she occasionally has muddy paws so she has a throw to lie on and doesn't get in the bed. Was brought up with dogs everywhere so it doesn't bother me, I like having dogs around.

Aww I miss my cats... BF is allergic (asthma mainly) although he's much better now, but we do have to keep them out of the bedroom.

Occasionally I'll sleep in the spare room and cuddle at least one all night. My old cat (no longer with us) used to share my bed which sometimes resulted me having to get out the other side and climb back over as he'd pushed me so far across the bed. I'd wake up to his lovely ginger face next to me on my pillow. Miss him and our cuddles. Nothing nicer than a purry kitty next to you when you fall asleep.
