Pets on/in the bed

I have had lots of cats in the past, up to six at a time, but not now. Two of them were 'bed sleepers'. I had one that was quite content to sleep at the bottom of the bed, which was handy for dealing with cold feet in the night:), but the other insisted on draping himself around your head like noisy fur hat. You got used to it.
None of my cats were ever allowed in the kitchen. Fortunately the kitchen wasn't on a route in and out of the house so that was fairly easy to enforce0 -
We have a cat that comes in the bedroom at night to sleep on me, l like it, pets are part of the family so why not.

If my cat would behave himself and go to sleep at night, he'd be welcome in my bedroom, and on my bed (but not in it). However, he's a pain in the rear end when I'm asleep, he can't manage longer than about an hour of lying still before he's up, jumping on me, batting my nose with his paw, wanting to play. So he is put out of my room, and usually downstairs with the hall door shut. He doesn't cry when he's put downstairs.
Previous cat slept on my bed every night, and it was lovely, he had his spot, curled next to my knees.0 -
When I'm alone, I'm happy for my cat to sleep on my bed with me and like the feel of his warm body snuggled up. However, my OH is allergic to animal fur so when he is staying over, the cat is banished from the bedroom. I felt so sorry for him that I have invested in a heated pet pad similar to the ones that catteries use and he absolutely loves it! I feel less guilty about leaving him downstairs in the cold when the heating goes off. Definitely recommend it.0

Haven't read all the posts: none in fact

But I would say that I won't have pets in the bedroom. Not really a 'cleanliness' issue, as many pets aren't dirty or grubby or skanky, but more so because I would get a bit irritated by them being there while I was asleep especially if they kept crawling or climbing over me or snoring, or jumped on me at 6am!
It's happened in the past, and I just can't be doing with pets in the bedroom when you're trying to sleep. So it's a 'no, no pets in the bedroom at all' for me.

I have 2 cats and a greyhound.
The cats are allowed on the bed until DH comes to bed then they get removed, where they retire to either the chair or the windowsill.
The dog is also comes in she sleeps on my side of the bed. We have tried to get her to sleep elsewhere but she just makes a lot of noise and keeps us and the neighbours awake.Proud to be dealing with my debts

We got our cat from a rescue centre in August - I was adamant at first she wasn't allowed in the bedroom. She meowed outside and sounded so pathetic that I let her in after a couple of nights.
Now she sleeps in between our feet, curled in a little ball and doesn't move until morning. If we are having a lie in she will stand on the shelf and gently tap DH on the head till he wakes up and feeds her

My dog sleeps on the bed with me, he curls up on the spare pillow but then he is smaller than most cats not sure I could cope with a big dog on the bed! When it's cold he sneaks under the covers, doesn't bother me I wear PJ's and clean the sheets regularly. He is with me pretty much 24/7 would feel weird shutting him out at night. No hygiene concerns, I would love to know what people think you'll catch from a dog on the bed?0
