When dh allowed our dog in the bedroom it was the end of our sex life! The
dog used to rest his head on the side of the bed and stare at us. I'm sorry but
I can't perform with an audience! It was the most off putting thing in the
    world.

Must admit, it put us off at first but since they couldn't see anything cause it was dark we soon got over it.

There's always one to lower the tone! :rotfl:

I don't think the tone can be much lower than the thought of animals in your bed....._pale_

My dear old doggy can sleep wherever he likes. He's a very very large golden retriever (healthy weight is about 40kgish, so biiig goldie), so he takes up a lot of space too. In reality, he sometimes sleeps on the bed in winter but rarely for more than about an hour, he's just usually more comfortable on the floor where he can spread out. Sometimes he's done longer if he's been upset or if I am, but not regularly.

Wouldn't mind anywhere though :) There's little yellow fur everywhere anyway :D

I think it's lovely to have the dogs on the bed.

I love snuggling with them and anyway, it's their home too.

Dogs and cats have good night vision though, much better than ours :D

I'm happy to have my cat on the bed at night but if I had company she'd be shut out of the room, quite simple for me personally.
  • I think few things are as lovely as having my cat cuddle up with us in bed.

    Totally agree! :)

    I've got this as well.

I can still 'perform' but I have to say it is slightly off putting when the yorkshire terrier sniffs the air!

Well since both of my dogs are usually snoring their heads off at the time, I don't think ive got much to worry about.

Our older cat is allowed upstairs and she usually sleeps on DS's bed. We also have a 6 month old kitten who is banned from upstairs at night. When we first got her, we took her upstairs as we didn't want her getting upset at being alone on her first night in a strange house. But she is a horror, she leaps on my head when I'm just drifting off to sleep, she'll burrow under the duvet and make a dive for my feet. Or she'll start chewing my shoes or the corner of a book, all of which she does very noisily, any time after midnight.

If I turf her out of our room, she will go into DS's bedroom and wake up the older one. They will then start chasing each other and barging around the whole house.

So she is relegated to the kitchen at night until she quietens down a bit!
