Pets on/in the bed

No animals in the bedroom - EVER!!! When my dh was alive he let the dog sleep in the bedroom and the farting and licking his nuts (the dog!) drove me mad. In the end it became such an issue that I moved into the spare room. Since dh died I've had 1 cat and 2 dogs and none of them were/are allowed in the bedroom. I'm a very light sleeper and once I get woken up by an animal moving or making any other type of noise I can't get back to sleep. At the moment I only have 1 dog and she's been left in the kitchen from day 1 so doesn't know any different. The only time she is ever allowed upstairs is to have a bath and when that happens I take her up on the lead.
At one time I did allow my 2 cats in my room but one night was enough! All the hair sticking to my face and getting up my nose was awful. No, sorry, my bedroom is an animal free zone!
Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid....0 -
My cats can sleep on the bed if they like - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
My old cat used to get under the covers and sleep in between us but the current two don't like doing that, or haven't tried anyway.0 -
Our cat sleeps at the foot of the bed. I've stopped trying to sleep around him and now move him with my feet if he's in the way, sorry but if he chooses to sleep there then that's the penalty!
But he gets his own back, he wakes me at 5am to be let out

Absolutely revolting!
Allowing something that licks other animals butts, its own parts and eats god knows what, has the potential for fleas, worms and ticks lie in your bed and breath on you and lick you.....*shudders*Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame

My cats dont lick other animals bottoms. They are indoor cats and Ive yet to see any of them try and lick other animals bums. Or their own bits (as they dont have any, theyve been neutered)
They dont have fleas worms or ticks
I would suggest that its probably just as revolting to exchange saliva with someone and other bodily fluids, particularly if some people were less than hygenic (and some people are), but people dont seem to mind having sex with others (and why should they, the point Im making is that that can get a bit messy as well, but people dont scream, dont come near me unless youve been hosed down will dettol).
Well, who knows, some people might
Each to their own, I dont think its revolting, but if some people do, fair enough.0 -
Also, ever do a food hygiene course? You'll be told some stories of things that are revolting, if people dont wash their hands before serving people.
Id say there are far more horrible germ type dangers out there from human to human, than having an animal in your bed.0 -
My cat had kittens on my bed (with me in it!) and I ended up on the floor for 2 weeks until she moved them.
Yes I did get a new mattressThe best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
I'm fine with my dogs being on the bed.
They are clean flea free dogs and I change the bedding twice a week.
Can't see any problem with it.0 -

Animal lovers always say that though... 'my pet doesn't have parasites/do anything disgusting etc. Bit like parents who are blind to their little horror's behaviour.
And no, I wouldn't have sex with someone unless they were scrupulously clean, anything less would be a complete turn off.
Bit of an odd comparison though.Over futile odds

Would you make your partner have a shower before having sex?0
