Would anybody know how I can get through to Virgin through e-mail, as I have an old ntl e-mail address and it won't accept this if I try to e-mail them with any problems? Apparantely if it doesn't end in virgin.net, it doesn't recognize you as a customer!

God, I am such an idiot! Why didn't I see this thread before ringing Virgin Broadband!!!

If you check the last thread I did in the Techie Board, you will see my problem. Hundreds of spam emails. Been going on for 11 days and NTL kept me on the phone today and then told me they couldnt' do anything and I had to change my email address. Furious at that - going to take me ages to remember who I need to contact! But did it, and I am still getting a message, Processing 1/156 from my McAfee SpamKiller.:mad: I just don't know what to do and do not want to ring them again. :(

Don't bother with eMail contact. Use the excellent support their offer via newsgroups.

UK staff are there 08:00 - 22:00. Remember not to post personal details / account details, just the part of your email address before the @ for xNTL customers or your alias for xBlueyonder customers.

Set your newsreader up as follows (for example Outlook Express).

    If xNTL use: news.cable.ntlworld.com

    If xBY use: text.news.virginmedia.com

    Then subscribe to: virginmedia.support.e-mail

There are other groups for others services and groups for discussion.

Replies go underneath (Top Posting is a No No), remember to expand the thread to see replies [+].
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • Can someone write me a guide of how to access the newsgroups in simple terms as I know absolutely zero about what they are or how to use them?

    This gives a good guide.

I have found their newsgroups very helpyful. They normally respond within 5 minutes 24/7.

  • Just says cannot connect to server when I follow that guide on http://www.virginmedia.com/customers/newsgroups/
