I phoned the 0800 4046960 number and was told I needed to get the goods, wait 30 days and then apply for rebate - joke!! I said I had reported to Action Fraud, had a Crime Report Number and quoted my rights through Distance selling legislation and surprisingly I will get a full refund when I return the goods. I now have an email stating this as evidence ;-) Don't settle for the rebate you are entitled to a refund. :rotfl: If I don't get - I WILL not give up!!

Don't accept the rebate - they tried to do the same with me but I quoted distance selling legislation and hey behold I have been offered a refund!

I received the goods yesterday, I went to the bank (nationwide) explained the situation and said I feel a victim of fraud. They filed a dispute and sent it to head office. 24 hours later all four payments (totalling £153) are back in my account!! Do not wait for rebate!!!! T&C state rebate is not valid for uk customers!!!! That is the trick!!

I placed an order tonight paying the £4.95 p&p and they've taken £150 from my account. I rang the 0800 number mentioned in this thread within an hour of placing the order, and after being cut-off a couple of times I got through to a Marc, who said that the order is being voided and no goods will be sent.

Let's hope he was telling the truth and that somebody brings an end to this soon.

I too have fallen or this scam and I am usually very wary of these sorts of things. When I ordered my Ketone I thought I was ordering a months free trial. I had an email confirming the order which said nothing about having to cancel my order. But just over two weeks later I have had £160 taken from my account. I have managed to talk to someone on the phone but I have been told that it clearly states in the terms that I needed to cancel within fourteen days or I would be charged for the goods. How can something be advertised as a free trial and then be charged for, surely this is a breach of advertising rules. I am going to my bank tomorrow to see if they can help otherwise I dont know how to proceed, needless to say Im a little more than hacked off as I cant afford to loose that money.

I'll just try and answer that bit.

When you ordered your free trial you agreed that after the 14 days you would be sent more product at monthly intervals and be charged for them. You also agreed that if you did not want the monthly subscription, you had to cancel within that 14 day period.

Of course that doesn't help you now... just may help you understand how you got where you are.

Would you agree that in Europe we are not accustomed to such dodgy sales technique? And massive thank you to MSE team for this opportunity to speak up!
Action Fraud did not help much today and offered to call The Citizens Advice Consumer Service's phone number is 08454 04 05 06 (opening hours 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday). Due to volume of calls they did not speak to me today. Earlier when I rung customer service they said that product has already been shipped and they can offer only rebate as it seems better value for money to get 149 BUT only in 75 days. I have cancelled my card to avoid any further charges. My bank did not help much with regards to getting money back using over 100 option. I shall keep you posted about my journey. Shall I mention that Holland and Barrett sells it for 4-99 a bottle?

The Citizens Advice Consumer Service suggested 1. speak to the bank.2. to write to sharks and ask for proof that I have agreed for terms and conditions , cancel free trial, cancel the order, notify them of a time scale to reply and post letter recorded delivery.

I went through on this through fb this morning and paid what I thought was £4.95 but then after getting a dodgy looking confirmation and the word rebate was mentioned, I quickly checked my bank account to see £151.89 and £1.22. I phoned the bank who said nothing they could do until the money had left my account as I had authorised it! After alot of searching I found the above post! And I phoned them and at first they said its in their T's and C's you can't cancel but once I quoted the long distance selling regulation she soon changed her mind. She popped me on hold for a moment and confirmed the refund should be with me within 3-5 days so fingers crossed it is! This was nearly a very expensive lesson...very upset about the whole thing though
