Does anyone know if I've been to quick for them and I have nothing to worry about as far as losing money is concerned...?
    Maybe, maybe not.

Surely your bank would be in a very good position to advise you on whether they will satisfy the request or not?
  • The person I spoke to at the bank said no money would come out because my card was taken off the system before the money came out, but I've had wrong advice from bank staff before, so I was hoping there may be an expert on here.
  • Get it in writing or a recorded call...never ever trust what your banks says if you have no proof of it.

To paraphrase....A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on.
  • Have fallen for this scam, are we protected by 'consumer contract information cancellation additional charges regulations 2013,? If bought by credit card will my credit card provider refund under section 75? I don't want to return the product just get back the additional charges that were hidden in their jargon.

No. Each charge you get will be less than £100 as they aren't stupid enough to allow such a simple way out. Plus I think that is for faulty or not supplied goods and you'd have a lot of trouble proving faulty.

  • Another scammed person here with a red face! I found an email address so I have emailed today and I've had confirmation emails of my cancellation with reference numbers so hopefully that's that! I've also had my bank stop any future payments and I've cancelled my debit card and am getting a new one which will have a different long number etc! do you think I've done enough to stop the payments? should I call to confirm the emails are legit?

i got caught out with this in April. sent rebate form back after 30 days have waited till now. called them and they have now said that my rebate is in its final stage and i will be receiving my rebate in the next 5-10 working days!
Not going to jump for joy until i actually see it in my account but fingers crossed!

i also thought i would be protected but it does actually say that its only £4.99 (or whatever it was again) and underneath says (after rebate). So unfortunately we dont have a leg to stand on. I ordered mine in April and just called them, apparently i should be receiving my rebate in the next 2 weeks. we will see!
