Did you get it from refund or rebate?0

I'd be interested to know whether the people who said on here that they phoned up to cancel their order actually had it cancelled or not. I'm very dubious. After reading this entire thread I gathered a lot of information and formed a pretty good argument as to why my order should be cancelled (quoting distance selling regulations, that I'd contacted action fraud, it was misleading, I'm a journalist and the papers are interested in this story etc) and the woman I spoke to was relentless when quoting their t&cs "our ordering process is streamlined so your order will immediately be sent to processing and then shipping" and thus orders cannot be cancelled. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said she was supervisor and would not back down on that so I just had to accept defeat and ask for my rma number.
The fact is this isn't really a scam - it's just very misleading and a rebate is what it is, it is my own fault I didn't really understand it and I was really kidding myself in thinking there wouldn't be a catch. It's quite rare that you can't cancel an order but that is probably where they make their money as people might not go about the refund/rebate procedure in the correct way or in the stated amount of time you are given - which again is very unfair and misleading but not actually a scam as the t&cs are clear in this.
Now I'm not sure where to go from here, whether to immediately send the products back when they arrive to get a refund or to wait and get a rebate whereby it is stated you receive more money back.
I feel like such an idiot, definitely learned a valuable lesson today!0 -
Hi all I'm new to this. In January I fell for this too. I had £153 taken from bank aswell as 1.28. I rang them and they said had to wait 30 days and fill rebate form and will receive a cheque for £150. I was not happy so rang my bank worried it was a scam. They said they will email the company telling them to not take any further payments. So no more money was taken. I rang the company saying I was worried it's a scam and my bank have stopped any further payments coming out, the woman said that's fine she understands and that I will definatley get a cheque once I sent rebate form. So I did that, and it's been nearly 4 weeks since I sent rebate form. So I rang them today and was told cause the bank had put a dispute against them for fraud they can't assist me any further and to contact my bank. Now this is a lie as the bank never put a dispute in they only sent a email to company to stop further payments coming out. So how the hell does this stop the company from sending my cheque considering I did send the rebate form back which is what was stated in terms and conditions. No where does it state that if the bank send the company an email to stop further payments coming out that I won't receive my cheque for money back!!!!!!!!!! I'm fuming. The dispute team for my bank is not open again till tomorrow morning so ringing back then. But what can the bank do to get my cheque for rebate???????0

Hello all,
So since my last post, my bank used Chargeback to get me back £153.01, after I appeared to have another batch of money taken from my account (it's not appeared on my online statement yet but I'm an extra £150 down on my available balance...). I think this is the only reason my bank offered to refund, as they had tried to take more money. If it was just the one batch, I think they would have said that there wasn't much they could do but block any future transactions. The lady that I spoke to at Barclays also told me that if any more money is attempted to be taken, to contact her. I had a delivery slip telling me something is waiting for me at my post office, but I'm assuming if I don't collect it, it will get sent back to the original sender so is it best for me to just leave them?0 -

You are completely right, that is out of order - how firm were you on the phone with the person you were talking to? Did you argue your case regarding the fact it doesn't state anything in the t&cs of the bank thing plus the fact your bank didn't actually file a dispute? I think you should to call the company back and refuse to take no for an answer, you have sent back a rebate form and are legally entitled for that money back and they cannot now throw any old excuse (let alone an untrue excuse) at you for a chance to keep your money that you didn't realise you were giving away to begin with. Ask to speak to their manager/supervisor, if you need to and state that it's very obviously illegally if they don't give you the money back as they are clearly advertised as free by rebate.0 -
Hi, last Sunday I fell for this scam as well. I realised about 30 seconds after I had clicked send that I had ended up paying the full amount and I would have to try and get back the majority of it by rebate. I'm so annoyed at myself. I did a quick check on Google and found out so many people had been taken in by the scam. I have paid by credit card so rang them to see if the amount had gone through and it hadn't so I waited to talk to somebody and they said it was pending. They said there was nothing they could do and I'd have to talk to the dispute team. I waited until the amount had cleared and called my credit card company again and they said that they had heard of a lot of people falling for this kind of thing and that what I would have to do is follow the terms and conditions by the letter and send back the bottles and if I didn't get my money back then they could try and do something. I waited until quite late in the evening to call the company because a lot of people have said that they had had trouble getting through. I'd also read that the phone calls cost quite a bit so I wanted to limit the amount of time I was on the phone. I got through first time, spoke to an American lady and basically said I just wanted to send the items back. She asked why and I just said that I didn't want them anymore and could I have an RMA number. She told me to hang on and gave it to me and then I repeated it back to her. She said that I would have to send the pills back and get a tracking number and then call them back with the tracking number so that they could track it. I checked the address to send them back to and she said it was the one in the UK on the website. In total I was on the phone 4 minutes 25 seconds. I will send the items on Monday and give them a call and the0

Hi can someone help me, I have fallen for this scam (the idiot that I am grrrr) I have already informed my bank and trading standards got my RMA number as well as informed Jennifer ellisons management. They arrived this morning so Now what? Should I open the parcel to retrieve a invoice although I have read some have nothing in them or do I just leave the whole thing sealed and just post it back with a copy of the RMA number.
All advice greatly appreciated thanks.0
