  • Well done kirri on the fantastic freezer achievement.

Not touched my freezer since the fight to put the shopping in on Tuesday but we had the chicken casserole pack (reduced from £4 to 97p) with a packet of 10p leek and cabbage mix, a casserole sauce mix and a 10p crusty French stick. And there is still plenty for tea tonight. 4 adult meals for £1.50 not bad if I say so myself.

I took 500g beef mince out of the freezer last night. 250g will be used for bolognese today (once bulked out I should have enough for me, OH, our son and an adult portion for the freezer). The other 250g will be made into a cottage pie tomorrow.

I'll also be using up some bits from the cupboard - passata, chopped tomatoes, herbs, wholewheat spaghetti etc and some frozen onions, garlic and mushrooms from the freezer. Garlic bread from the fridge.

    Nothing gone in today (yet).

I was thinking of doing the same but the day before I ate a whole 100g bar of the new G&Black's milk choc orange and today I've eaten a whopping slice of coffee & walnut cake. :o (and I have another portion needs eating tomorrow). I can't even give it up for health...

wondering whether to try for the rest of lent.. We should have had a lent challenge on the thread!

Lol that made me laugh, not being able to give it up for health.

So far im doing well, 5 days I. And not missed it.

Today for breakfast I'm back to having smoothies, lunch was the last burrito from the freezer, it was so good, I will make more best vegetarian meal I've ever had, Just need to pick up cheese and wraps. For dinner I've finally used up the last of the sausage meat from freezer, they are in a sauce, with the last carrot grated. This will be a fair few dinners, perhaps 4 or 5

Such a lovely day today weather wise. Decided to make the most of it and spent the afternoon in the park with DS and some friends.

In terms of the freezer things have been a bit up and down but I think overall progress is still continued to be made.

    IN:-
2 pots of soup, half a loaf of bread

    OUT:
half a lemon, 2 vegetable burgers, one portion chilli and chickpeas.
    GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50 :)
    Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £70
